Glen Campbell Sings "Gentle on My Mind" w/alternate guitar solo

From 1984, Glen Campbell sings "Gentle on My Mind" and plays a guitar solo different from what he usually plays on this song--a fantastic solo, as usual! Looks like Carl Jackson on banjo. Of course, this song is on Glen's 1967 album "Gentle on My Mind", available at finer retailers everywhere!

“I’ll play one” he says nonchalantly, before launching into a guitar solo only a man with 3 arms and 19 fingers could possibly play. Sometimes, we’re privileged to be able to watch pure, unadulterated genius at work. This is one of those times. ❤️

in the early 80's I took finger picking lessons from a guy named Melvin Nash. He was also from Delight, Ark. He told me Glen Campbell has perfect pitch and started guitar at five. At night he played with his family. But his uncle was the most important--he was a studio guitarist and it was from him Glen learned everything. Melvin took lessons from the uncle, too. when Melvin met them glen was in his early teens and was into improvisational Jazz. The uncle had a band and (I believe) it was with that band Glen went to Albuquerque and began playing professionally etc. They say he's near death. Of all country boy guitar players he is, without any doubt, the King and probably always will be. Thanks for reading this and best of luck with your playing.
