That is the true magic of a dark pencil..........I use a woodless pencil of the 4b grade for alla my paper animations.

It may just be that memorable figures are charismatic but any other animation students notice how big of a joy these animation gods are to be around? They just make me :)

He's doing the rough keys. Clean keys and inbetweens come later.

basically going over with clean lines and then drawing in-between frames between those he made in the video

Indded and that wa Mr. k's whole point of the humane essence of this whole idea of him doing the animated session for you right before your eyes............................................comes the connection of human to human is what 2d paper animation can and should be about...

Im pretty sure they put new paper on top, then detail it a bit more. Then they make a final drawing where all the details are there and its clean.

10 years later and I suppose you deserve an answer. "Where is that chair? the bottom of the chair?" he had only drawn the character in in so many of the frames that he forgot about the prop and he had trouble finding it again for reference. Relatable to most animators since we tend to draw what we find interesting and then struggle to find the less interesting but still important-for-context bits

@hasaniguy They are animation students. Each of them thinking they are the next big thing. Eager prima donnas who make noise and stuff. How do I know? I'm an animation student

It doesn't involve many dramatic positions, no acting, it's just a stand up animation. Straight ahead method can have interesting results. Plus, there are just 2 extremes.

My classmates' call me old fashioned because I did not grow up with computers I only had a a pencil and paper.

@insertcooluser well... they are students at CalArts, probably the most prestigious college for animation in the world. But I know some students there who're lovely people and yeah, we're not all like that. :p
