People often say these are similar while I'll agree they are both fruity Speysides, they are totally different to my palate. Livet gives me a much more citrus, lemon, green apple and cream notes, while Fiddich is absolutely pear, green apple, and oak. I enjoy both, but for my money Fiddich gets the nod.

These two bottles are 'birds of a feather'...along with the still similar Original Glenmorangie 10. Each differs of course (and thankfully)...but still 3 birds of one feather. The Glenmorangie at 43% in US may offer benefit to some. It is hard for me to understand some of the comments that might prefer 'crapper water' to any one of these most decent single malts. None of these feathers may a starlet make, however, each of these feathers offers some serious single malt value in my opinion. At my shop each can be had right now (bought a fiddich just today only because my cabinet already contains the livet and morangie) for $29.99US making these Glens in varying rotation within my cabinet an inevitability. At many other shops I often see livet and fiddich at $30-$35+/- and morangie $35-$45. I buy any of these Glens at $30 without hesitation but would alter my selection if Glen prices were habitually $40-$50.

I have tasted both and I prefer Glenfiddich.

this obviously just a personal preference, I feel Glenfiddich 12 >> Glenlivet 12, despite I am drinking Glenlivet like right now (not drunk yet)

I find them both very similar in colour, and flavour. It's only when I spend more time with them that I can distinguish the subtle differences. For the most part, the main difference is I taste orange in Glenlivet and I taste apple in Glenfiddich. And on the finish, yes, a bit more pepper on Glenfiddich. Their two 15 year old scotches are very much different. The Glenfiddich 15 year old solera vat is one of my go to favourite single malts.

Another good video. About a year ago I had back to back bottles of these two and was regretting not doing my own comparison. You guys did that for me.

Had a Glenfiddich last month and just opened a Glenlivet tonight. So I am just watching your comparison now. I enjoy both but prefer the Glenfiddich. Nice job fellas.

I was awakened at midnight by a friend on January 1 1977. So I opened up the Glenfiddich and Levit and the Jamacian Blue Mountain coffee beans and the test began. It took about 3 hours of testing, neat, coffee, back and forth. It was tuff. I decided Fiddich he decided Levit.

The Glenlivet is the one that I'm actually drinking with my cigar here, because it's the one of those two sold at that bar. you guys think I made a good pairing choice there?

When I started watching I was still trying to acquire a taste for whiskey. Now I have a Macallan 12. The videos I like the best are the ones where you guys are in some cool location. You mentioned meeting the master distiller for Glenlivet, how amazing would a distillery tour be from you guys. Or like a travel blog to some distillery. Anyways, glad you guys are still having fun!

Had a bottle of glenfiddich 12 and my grandmother dumped it. She's paying me back the money and i'm gonna try the glenlivet. Sucks i won't be able to compare.

I tried Glenfiddich 12 some 25 years ago or so and it almost put me off scotch. Then later I was introduced to The Glenlivet 12 and began my true love affair with scotch whisky (I've got some 16 bottles of different single malts in the house). Recently I purchased a bottle of Glenfiddich 18 year old and was most pleasantly surprised as to how good it was. Was it the further ageing or has Glenfiddich really changed?

just got the Glenlivet 12 for my very first scotch. upon sniffing it, my whole head tingled. sniff again and again head tingle tingle. first sip wasn't bad, i really never liked taking shots of alcohol and this was okay. think itll last me a while.

Living in the bourbon belt most little liquor stores have these two and blends. Both of these have a taste of green cut grass. I find that good blends are more complex than these two. Give me Johnnie walker black or green over the glens. However whatever is being received you two make it fun. Keep up the hard work !
