Without a doubt, Glenn Close is the most wronged actress in the history of cinema. Total lack of respect, consideration and humanity the Academy of Oscars never gave her a statuette. An extremely talented, unique, special, competent, deserving, magnanimous actress ... who unfortunately never had the recognition she truly deserves. It was already for Glenn Close to have at least 3 Oscars. I hope that justice will finally be done at the Oscar 2021 with her interpretation of the film Hilbilly Elegy. I hope Netflix will make a heavy and strong campaign. The Academy will never be able to correct all the regrettable injustices that Glenn Close suffered throughout his career. This movie star cannot die without winning an Oscar. Let the entire voting public have a minimum of compassion and empathy. God bless Glenn Close. The Academy Awards are complete flawed. I don’t think anybody really thinks since Garland lost for a “Star is born” to plastic and dull Grace Kelley that it amounts to anything but politics. It’s so hit/miss, it has become a joke internationally. They still do not have a category for Horror which is absurd as that is an enormous part of the profit of Hollyweird.

Magnolia Fleurs: Really?? She won the Tony Award with that voice? Wasn’t SUNSET BOULEVARD the musical that opened in London with PATTI LUPONE who the producers trashed and set aside for Close? UNFAIR TO LUPONE!! But, Glenn Close should hzz as be had at least two Oscars by now as her performances, Lead and Supporting are always the best!!!

Simply adore how Glenn Close interprets a song. She not only sings she also becomes the character behind the song turning it into a fully realized performance. Incredible.

She had an extraordinary model to emulate. Barbara Cook’s performance of that song, in the 1985 Follies concert and thereafter, embodied the song, and added the advantage of an angelic voice. She cut through to Sondheim’s intention. To quote her line in “She Loves Me,” “in a way, it’s a little like the voice of God.”

The tempo is a little fast but Glenn Close again demonstrates here interpretive powers and indeed splendid singing voice. To hear her at her best - and looking superb - listen to Ms Close singing Send in the Clowns. Barbara Cook remains my favourite for this song. Liza Minnelli's pop version is surprisingly good.

I love Glenn Close..I think as an overall actress/performer she's overshadowed by other actresses (mainly Meryl Streep) that aren't as great..which is a shame..Glenn is a tremendous talent that should be given more respect..don't even get me started on the fact she hasn't won an Oscar..smh

I agree with you. You know, luck has a part in it all. Glenn is so hardworking and performs for movies, TV films and theater. Meryl, although as talented as Gleen, was luckier: With her consecutive Oscar nominations her fame as a great actress built upon itself and continues to do so up to this day. In a way that many people can't even concieve the possibility of a bad performance. After Glenn lost another Academy Award with her performance as Albert Nobbs, I started thinking things can be unfair to her the way they were to Richard Burton and Peter O'Toole who got numerous Oscar nomination and NEVER a Best Actor award.

An EXTRADINARY TALENT with every facet so carefully honed. She excels in the ranks of Bergman, Hepburn and Streep but when you add her incredible voice, she jumps to the forefront. And there's an endearing element of shyness. How in the world do you truly define the magnitude of her astonishing talents.in every aspect of her craft.

Why is it so fast? They cut out a good chunk of the song already and then sped it up. Her performance is fine, but I hate this tempo for this song.

It was at the Kennedy award. So they were doing a medley of her most popular songs. That's why it's sped up and parts are taken out so that it meets time constraints
