Elvis-One Night At The Omni-June 5th,1976-in Atlanta-complete cd. This is a very good audience recording, and a good show from 1976. I designed the front cover.

I was there in Atlanta for 2 of the 4 concerts in June 1976 !!! It was truly a amazing and spiritual experience!!! I was 16 years old and had been a Elvis since I was 8 years old My Grandmother was a huge fan so I grew up listening to his music!!! He was definitely lived up to his name “The Gladiator Of The Stage”!!! I can still remember the audience excitement and how they adored him And how he played off the audience’s energy and excitement!! The Fans in Atlanta in June of 1976 where thrilled and exuberant and over the moon to see him perform. There was a special Arora in the Areana the opening night !! I can still remember the Goosebumps I felt when I heard him sing American Trilogy!! And to hear all the songs from his catalog Old and New was thrilling!!! When he sang Hurt and hit the high notes I thought the parts of the glass panels in the ceiling were going to Shatter!! The experience was exhilarating and one that I cherish still today!!! My Uncle was a Detective for the Atl Police Department at time and he had shared with us that every police officer that work for Atl.PD did not have days off during the week Elvis was in Town! It was all hands on Deck!! Mainly to keep the fans from getting hurt !!! But at the stage area the police had formed a human chain to keep the Fans from storming the stage at the end of the concert when he sang I can’t Help Falling In Love With You!!! I hope other fans and the same experience I did! One I’ll never Forget!!! Elvis was presence that night was like a comet shooting through the sky!!!

This is priceless Glen. He sounds like he’s having a great night! Love what you’ve done with the sound. I feel like I’m there in person. Also, first ime you can hear what he says to the audience. He’s a riot! Great example of his sense of humor and quick wit!,

I really like the audience recorded shows. Although the sound isn't always the best, you can really get a feel of what it was like to be there. How excited people were to see Elvis. Thanks to Glen for re-working the sound though. I know some of these old recordings can be tough to work with. I can only imagine how they sounded before!!

He sounded so good at this concert, but just listen to his concert the next night. He sounded like a different man. Voice very slurred, and the band actually had to play slower so he could keep up with them. Possibly the worst Elvis concert I've ever heard. You never knew with him in 76 what you were going to get.

I have heard this complaint but he did change his Setlist from 1969 to 1977… One of the things about becoming a megastar is that people expect to hear your hits… But at least 20 to 30% of his program was changing over the years. He had a pretty deep song catalog and he certainly could have dug in deeper. In fact the few times he tried to shake it up he didn’t like the response and he went back to the formula. This is one of the problems with mega -fame--The fans really don’t always want you to grow. You can see his dismissive medleys of all the rock ‘n’ roll hits as an example of how bored he was with some of the older stuff. The same with the scarf distribution. If he had a different manager and did less touring he would have regrouped and probably reimagined his program.

@@AndrewVOdom I agree with you! Plus, have to remember it’s easy to say same shows now as we can listen to them anytime we want but go back to this time period when your touring different towns & seeing different crowds every night. It was their first time seeing the show!
