Turbulence of the wind is blowing 90° to the tree line then you're on the back side of a dynamic soaring slope massive turbulence

You made me smile BUT - to be fair - America has some excellent glider pilots too And nowhere is a completely muppet free zone. Maybe the bloke was trying to convince his wife they should buy a powered aeroplane?
