Glitter Macro Photography Tutorial ✨

Glitter is crazy messy but really interesting in macro. We're using the Adaptalux Xenon Flash Lighting Arms to light our glitter and capture some cool shots.
In this macro photography tutorial, we're putting glitter onto a makeup brush to get some soft-focus images of the shapes and particles in contrast to the bristles of the brush.

Oh my goodness Ben! I want a “Clean up action video!” Glitter makes me bonkers! But.... once again you have tickled my creative spot! Flocking is something else you might like to try, it’s fuzzy stuff that clings to every thing. I think I will try rubbing a balloon and get it all static and pour some flock on it... thanks Ben, always love your videos!

Indeed, I'm starting to think I may never be glitter free again! I'm aware of flocking for creating grass in models. You can get a little machine that makes it super easy!

Thanks Ben, and I will try this, I have enough glitter makeup to use AND a dust buster! My flashes also arrived a few weeks back but haven’t had a really good play with them as yet. Andrea (Australia 😎😎)

Tried it with glitter powder, wasn’t happy with, but found chunky glitter on Amazon so will be trying it again

I saw your shots in the group, thought they looked pretty good... there is a big difference between the big and small glitter though!

@@Adaptalux yes I deleted them wasn’t too happy, however I received my chunky glitter today (well 1 pkt, still waiting on other😂) so will be trying it again tonight 🤞🤞🤞

I cannot lie, Ben. I enjoyed this but I almost enjoyed the mess you made (and will have to clean up) a little more! I think you might have made a bigger mess than when I did various fruits being dropped into milk. Splattered *everywhere*. But my cleanup is a snap compared to what you will have to do! ;)

I have hoovered twice and it's still there... though I'd rather have glitter than milk in the carpet (that's next week 😉).

Hi Ben! Very good video as usual. A quick question if I may? Using the Raynox in conjunction with the macro lens, will you get the vignetting round the edge of the image? I tend to get this, but I'm using a 50mm prime. That's a very interesting 'look' for you, by the way! You're absolutely covered in it! 😆

Hey Ash, I thought I'd add a. It of sparkle and pizazz to my look, glad you approve lol. I also have a 50mm prime and it leaves some vignetting, the 100mm macro is more than fine though. I think longer focal lengths are better with the raynox.
