Happy New Year everybody! We're officially starting the fifth year of the 2020s, and as such, our ranking is now expanded to include ten more additional slots (and a new thumbnail). Now, this list includes the top 50 songs of the decade up to the latest chart available (week dated to 01/13/2024).

The following video aims to represent the best charting songs throughout the 2020s following their weekly positions on Billboard's Global 200 list, as well as Spotify's Global chart for the first eight months of 2020. As we're currently in the fifth year of the current decade, solely the top 50 songs up to this point in time have been included.
This list uses an inverse-point system, in which songs at no.1 gain the greatest amount of points, while songs at no. 100 gain the least (songs below 100 do not gain any points). Each week is weighted differently following the turnover rate of songs at the top, in order to balance and equally represent each time-period.
