@@WolfofnoStreet Riiiiiiiight it’s the original GLOCK the one that made all the other polymer frame pistols even popular and it created a market for “polymer” framed pistols but it’s nothing special at all right? It’s the Glock that is featured in every movie and captured the world by storm in culture and media but it’s nothing special right? Full sized grip, Max capacity, great range, power and accuracy while being lighter and more reliable and modular than its counter parts but it’s nothing special right? It’s literally the semi automatic version of the Glock 18 (where the 33 round magazine originated) which was a hand sized machine pistol with a semi automatic variant that could take its magazines but it’s nothing special right? It did something to change the whole worlds take on pistols and to this day the Glock 17 is still a “DUTY” sized pistol(used by military/police/people defending there homes and person)bigger than a Glock 19 grip and barrel and shorter barrel than a Glock 34 which is produced mainly for competition and would be unwieldy for actual duty use. The Glock 17 with its 4.5 inch barrel and hexagonal/polygonal rifling produces more power than ANY 9mm pistol with a less than 4.5” barrel hence G26, G19, 19X, SIG P320 compact, SIGP226, HK VP9SK, Walther CCP, RUGER security 9, H&K VP9, Springfield Hellcat etc etc! Stock G17 with max ammo capacity, conceal ability, reliability, range, accuracy, control ability, shoot ability and POWER (besides its upgrade ability which allows you to do and go in whatever direction you please) buts it’s nothing special? Never was big into the Glock design but I just got a really nice modded PSA Dagger and I really like it so I think I may get a Glock here soon. I really want a Glock 44 but that would probably be something I buy after I get a new carry gun. That Glock with the long slide in 10mm would be awesome too.

Notice how the longer the barrel and the grip, the bigger the gun, and the bigger the gun the quieter the sound, and less recoil. That is why rifles are only 18 and above while handguns are 21 and above, they are easier to use.

@@Skrillful Well fuck I tried it, and I mean nothing on my glock is stock that I know of, but I doubt that has much to do with it, you right lol. That being said though, that method is dumb as fuck lol, I like to use the method where your slide hand is in the top front if the slide (Beretta 92 dudes will rack from below sometimes) and either my palm at the front and thumb towards the center of the slide, ut allows a good amount if friction so when I rack it its just a lot harder to fail on

Glock is the Chevy 350 of handguns. There are better guns, fancier guns, more expensive guns, etc, but the Glock is common, it is everywhere and it is reliable AF under a variety of conditions. I have a Glock G17 just like this one for home defense and for hanging out and shooting at my buddy's rural outdoor range. Social hour shooting guns with friends and having a beer or two is just so darn 'Merica. That said, I am about as emotional about my Glock as I am about my framing hammer. The Glock is a good affordable tool for the above described job that I have for it. 60 years old now, grew up with long guns but don't hunt and don't base my self image on them in any way. I am a responsible, trained and safe gun owner, but not a "gun nut," a throwback I suppose to how it used to be before people went political and insane over an inanimate object. If I could wave a magic wand and make every gun in the US permanently disappear that would be fine with me. Alas, that is not reality no matter how hard some try to make it seem so.

9mm doesn't have much recoil. Plus the G17 is a pretty flat shooting gun. It has a low bore axis and the higher capacity adds more rounds, hence more weight which reduces felt recoil.
