G23 was my first Glock. I got a 9mm conversion barrel and PRESTO, I now have a G19 as well.

The G23 is my favorite Glock. I had a gen 3 and traded it a while back and I have always regretted it, so I plan on adding another one sometime next year. I have a G22 (gen 3) and a G19 (gen 4) and like both of them, but the 23 wins the day for me. Really good video, Buffalo!

Liking the POV camera. I too, would never let go of my G23 Gen 3. It has been so reliable that it is the only SD pistol I carry, whether it is winter or summer out here in the high desert. Always enjoy your videos Buffalo.

Hey Buffalo, I too have a G23 and really like it. It was a LEO trade-in and had some issues, but I called Glock and they simple asked me to send it to them. A week later I got it back with virtually all internals replaced at no cost to me, so I basically ended up with a new G23. I recent purchased a G30SF in 45ACP and really, really like it. Almost every review had the same two comments; soft shooting and accurate. It totally lives up to the reviews. This will be my new EDC. I’m in California, so it will take some time, but local sheriff is a strong support of 2A rights. I would really like to see your review of this weapon and I’m guessing you may find it to be your new EDC. Love your channel and down to earth reviews with a straight forward, common sense approach on weapons. Keep up the great work. Bill

In 1999 or 2000 I bought a Glock 23 I have carried ever since great carry round.

Good to see your range is no longer under water. Gotta love the Glock 23 mine has operated flawlessly for years till the night sights started dimming away. If 357 Sig Ammo wasn't so expensive I would get myself a barrel for that. Glad to see you used the background music it kind of classes up your channel.

Hey Buffalo Guy, I come from a 1911 Family, My Dad now deceased was a Custom 1911 Pistolsmith! When Glocks 1st hit the industry in the mid 80's we referred to them as Tupperware Guns and laughed at the UGLY Gun. My son was issurd a Glock 22 as his duty firearm in 2007 and I got him a Glock 27 as his off duty firearm bust as we all understand when you are a Police Officer you are really never off duty. as I handled it before gifting it to him i decided to try one for myself and probably 35+ Glocks later (9mm's, 40's, 45acp and the 45GAP) here I am, with at least another 5 being gifted to my son! Although Dad would be rolling in his grave with me carrying and shooting Glocks he would be happy that I have a common interest in the shooting sport with my son as I did with him ';-) Thanks for this video...Mike

Good video.Those Gen 3's will run forever.My 1st defensive pistol was a Ruger P95.It was a heavy tank but it always went bang when the trigger was pulled.I also kept a Winchester 1300 12 gauge on the back window rack of my truck.That was a long while back.

First of all, great shooting. Love my glock 23 gen.3, just about have 1000 rounds thru it. Wanted to point out major failures using 9mm conversion barrel, without changing internal parts. Had my glock lock up and jam twice using tulammo(steel cased) and federal(aluminum cased). Also, double feeding with federal. Have recently shot 200 rounds using Remington cmc 9mm brass ammo with no issues, extractor appears to eject harder brass casings MUCH better. Just thought I'd share that. Thank you for your vid. Nice vid man I really like how you did the ending with the voice carrying over on to the slowmo! I thought all you had to do to clean those suckers is wash um in muddy water! I always say I'm not a glock fan but that's not entirely correct. I'm not a .45 10mm frame size fan. There just to dam big in the grips even in the SF models. The .40 size frames are nice they fit pretty good in the hand for sure. The only reason why I don't own a glock is because of cast bullets, I gotta buy a barrel right after I buy a new gun it just doesn't make sense. But man the pure intchange ablilty of them is amazing! There the small block Chevy of the gun world!

Curious to see if 9mm conversion is more reliable with a fresh recoil spring opposed to one that has ran .40 for extended time?? Or a well worn one. Probably just ejector issues tho

Don't forget you can also get a 22lr conversion kit. That makes four calibers in one gun.

I appreciate this video. Just purchased this last week as my 1st firearm. Why does it seem like everyone hates 40cal? Is recoil that significant or a problem?

In my opinion, there's no better pistol than a Glock for personal carry. I own 5 of Glocks, and just like you, I think I've had less than 6 failures in all of them since I was given my first Glock, which was a Glock 16 in 1999. So, in 19 years of shooting nearly every day, I've had between 6 and 7 failures. You just can't beat 'em.

Up here in Michigan pistols cost a little more then most other states. I bought a Glock 21 Gen 2 in 1994 for $ 545. I just bought a Sig P320 compact in 9mm and a caliber x-change kit in 357 sig. I watch MrHolster videos also.

Buffalo, I agree with your theory that 40SW is falling in popularity. On the flip side, doesn't it seem like 10mm is gaining popularity instead? The Glock 23 is a badass option and the conversion is a huge bonus.

I’m embarrassed to admit my first semi-auto was a Llama 1911 that jammed a spent case back into the barrel once or twice a magazine. It was a nightmare, and cost me way more trouble than it was worth. To make the story more embarrassing I traded the Llama for $200 off a S&W Sigma .40 cal. That gun sucked. The trigger was horrible, it had a crazy twisting muzzle flip, and I took a lot of flak from my other gun buddies. I was revolver guy back then, I carried a Charter Arms .44 bulldog which was and is a good gun, but I really wanted a Glock. I really didn’t know what Glock to get but I knew I wanted to Glock I just couldn’t afford one. So when I got my government theft refund back I finally had the money to trade the Sigma in on a Glock 23 and a month later it was stolen out of my truck at work. So I cried and cursed and I saved up again and finally bought a Glock 19 and have carried it everyday since. Of course now I have a Glock 43X that is winning my EDC desires. I have a lot more EDC choices actually. I got my first handgun in 1988 when turned 21, so my safe is pretty full now. I’m curious to know if you ever carry more than one handgun?

Were you in glock-guns.com? What are you carrying for .40 defense rounds? I've been going w/ Remington Golden Saber in 180gr since I picked up my G23. Sometimes I'll shoot the 150gr GS's but I prefer the 180's. Your G23 story is just about ditto to mine, but you're ahead of me by having the G19 ejector and extractor. My rig is olive drab and has trijicons and a jentra on her, I love it! I've been considering making it a full time G19 for the wifey. -meh- undecided I have since picked up the G27 as a companion piece for the summer and use the wolf G23 9mm barrel in it flawlessly as well. I put night sights on mine when I got it way back in the day, they're still glowing but it's near time to swap them out for some fresh stuff. Great video, keep up the good work!

BTW even though the Gen3 is cheaper, I prefer the mag release button on the 4's.

Never had an issue with the lone wolf barrel in a G23. All I did was get a glock 19 magazine. The gun runs perfect. No hiccups

I have never shot glocks well, not sure why, I think it is the trigger. I seem to shoot Sigs much better but I still like my 1911's.

I hate the way glocks feel in my hand but for some reason I shoot them far better than I shoot most semi autos. Even my buddies subcompact .40 glock I can shoot out at 30-40 yards and hit a target pretty easily. Ive never understood it, but that's why I'm gonna buy a Glock 23 or 22 this weekend more than likely. I cant shoot 1911s as good as I can a glock, and they're so light I could conceal carry either with ease as I'm 6'3 and a big guy.

I think these are like working tools , so if I needed a hammer , I’ll just buy a hammer , in stead of trying to use the side of a machete Instead of spending all that are conversion stuffs , might as well just buy a 9 mm glock .
