In my class, sometimes the teacher says to put our cameras on and literally, no one does (same for mics sometimes) so all we see is anime profile icons for most people. It gets awkward for the teacher (the only person with a camera on and mic) talking to a bunch of icons with our names under it.

I always got on classes before the teacher and every other student and I was always HOST due to it. Here's a funny story actually, so my friend started singing in class and because I was the HOST I muted her, long story short she was grateful and was saved from humiliation. (HOST POWERS!)

That’s every class except my science class. We were doing a thing in nearpod about forces so some people drew pushing my teacher (he’s in a wheelchair rn cuz of an injury) off a cliff into lava or water or into a cactus and he didn’t even care. We were all just cracking up. My science class is really fun so yeah

My RE teacher told my class a story about someone who didn't hang up because they joined the teams meeting and just left it until 20 mins after the call had ended and my RE teacher stayed just to confrunt him

That's why I love Google Meet. I don't even have to talk, which is great for me bc social anxiety. I can use the chat. Also I have social anxiety so I didn't have to turn my camera on. It wasn't a excuse. When I had to for tests I was like stiff as a statue, trying to act normal.

I hate cold calls because it’s not only inconvenient for the ones being cold called but the ones who know the answers are really hyped up about answering them and we took time out of our class to think and solve this, so don’t call on someone else who doesn’t know it or who’s struggling with it or is anxious please it’s disrespectful to us all.

Actually, I like the no eating in class rule. It isn't actually enforced in my class, but it has been in past years. I have a disorder called Misophonia so I get distracted and annoyed at small sounds like chewing, sniffling, tapping, etc.

Yeh like first they made us do it and everyone kinda did it but then slowly no one did it even teacher closed there camera and now no one does it so when yeh teacher says we have a exam we all say “our camera has a problem” and yeh teacher doesn’t care only when we have presentations we have to talk about something we open our cameras for more points but sometimes people read on papers but there not suppose to and it’s way too obvious but I actually did once cuz it was way too big paragraph so I read on the paper and no one noticed and even my friend asked me “how did you save all Thai in you mind” and I said “no I didn’t”

2:50 last year we were in a mental maths and we were doing a class correction. There was a question which I completely guessed on and I was praying for the teacher to not call my name out. I literally turned my camera off then I hear my name being called. I was like why didnt I just close teams?

The start of online classes: Sitting at my desk (I have one at home for art), looking presentable, the teachers made you turn on your camera at least at the start of the class, never let out early. Now: Laying in bed, same outfit for 3 days, messy hair, never have to turn on cameras, rarely have to stay the entire period.

In my online class is different bc we were always told to turn the camera off and mute our mics. And i flipped everything bc instead of taking notes and whatever i took pics of everything and kept it until i finished my semesters and cheated on my tests and finals. While looking like a mess without brushing my hair...NOTHING. 🤣

The problem I'd have if I were still in school would be them requiring you to sit at a desk. I didn't have a desk in my bedroom, and the dining room was pretty off limits because what's where everyone gets ready for work. Happy I'm not in school anymore.

No one was able to realize I had ADHD even though it was so obvious growing up. This is why I was only diagnosed at 18. I'm gonna be 24 in September.

With ADHD, my elementary school does the same thing and they ignore when I get overwhelmed, I would ask for a break, “this is your fifth break today sit back down and pay attention!” Sorry for being uncomfortable for the the amount of people and noise going on 😒

Lol that’s me and also boys with ADHD are often over diagnosed and girls with ADHD are often under diagnosed little fun fact for you so yeah I’m not diagnosed but I’m 99.9% sure I have it that I have literally all but one of the symptoms

I have a sensory processing disorder, so every time someone would eat in class I wouldn’t be able to focus for the entire class. One time one of my teachers screamed at someone to, and I quote, “STOP EATING SO ASH CAN FOCUS” and that was the day I became “That kid who doesn’t focus right”

last year i had to do online school and I hated it bc it ruined a lot after that year was over the beginning of this year i went to irl school yet i ended up back into online in 2022 the thing that makes me so happy with this video is how much kassie understands everything in this like i REFUSE to ever turn on my camera because it fr gives me so much anxiety i look at the button making SURE my camera is off covering the camera until i see it is off for sure but yea all of gloom's videos make me super happy

Once I was FaceTiming my friend during class, and we have the same class, so when you unmute yourself on the meeting and the person who’s on facetime With you is unmuted there’s en echo. My friend unmuted herself by mistake, and I knew so I muted and she kept talking until the teacher said something, and she lied and said she was talking to herself

I remember when I was stilll in online school that at a certain point my school and teachers didn't want us being late everyday anymore because of 'bad internet' so they made a rule that if your internet is bad your parents have to send a mail to the school about that and if you were late without a reason you would get an entire hour absent

One time we were in an online zoom class and my friend didn’t realize she was unmuted and she started singing lol. The students texted her saying she was unmuted but she didn’t see that and then another student unmuted themself and told her she was unmuted. It was a very funny situation 😂

Once when my mic was on during a zoom class and I didn’t notice so I was doing my thing ya know watching KZfaq and then the teachers like whats that noice. And I say “Sorry teacher my brother is next to me and I didn’t notice my mic was on.”. She says ok and the class goes on. It wasn’t an important class it was just art or smthn but I felt so anxious I wanted to die then and there.

I know the feeling. Me and my friend always email each other during music(because that's our least favorite class), and the teacher looked up from her computer and asked what the notification sound was on our iPads. I froze because I was scared, but my friend saved us and said it was notifications from google classroom.

I remember I ate a bowl of noodles in a zoom class once and they couldn't see because my camera was up to showing my nose on up and anytime the teacher was explaining something,I would bend down to eat but act like I was taking notes😂😂😂

I had to do PE online and it was a disaster! We had to exercise in front of the camera to a workout video but whenever we had to do anything on the floor(like push ups or smth) I just lied there until I had to get up cuz my camera wasn’t pointing at the floor.

So when I have zoom meeting for school we have 2 rules that we MUST follow: 1 camera must be OFF and we HAVE to be muted. Idk why the teachers always said it was a distraction when they were on. I mean I ain’t complaining I just watched KZfaq during class. Lol

In online classes when theirs a test I listen to music, and once I accidentally unmuted and it was at a really weird part of the song when the guy singing was making a bunch of weird sounds and everyone heard it and I had the yellow square around me

My teacher doesn’t do breakout room but my dance teacher does, basically it’s a separate meeting room where 2-10 people are put. In my case it’s for Improvisation (or improv for my fellow lazy people ✨)

A breakout room is basically the teacher makes “rooms” for groups of students and they would talk about whatever the teacher told them to talk about. Then, the teacher would bring them back into the regular meeting

in my school, our mics don't have to be on and our cameras don't have to be on. The only class where we had to turn our mics on was when we were answering interview questions for lifeworks. Other than that I've only turned my mic on to say hi to someone that was in the classroom (we alternate with half the school going on odd days and the other half on even days)

I don’t have that many classes that require zoom- I have a couple cyber classes and two other in person classes. (Weird schedule, I’m hybrid, I know) but there was a Zoom where there were over 100 other students there. I skipped the whole thing by muting myself and turning off my camera. I was marked as being there but I don’t remember what the zoom was about.

4:00 actually I get that. Because in my mind the school may not be thinking about this but, while yes students can make a mess and not clean up (which most kids don't clean up after themselves), the scent and knowing someone is eating could distract students that are poorer. They have to sit there and listen, watch, and smell while you enjoy your food. Meanwhile they may only get one meal a day. I can see how that would be considered a distraction to them. Although I don't know how often this would happen but it is interesting to think about.

There's a hack to keep your camera off! When you are in a breakout room share your screen then keep sharing when you exit you won't be able to turn your screen on No idea why but you wouldn't be lying

It makes complete sense why are videos have to be on, my moms a teacher and it’s infuriating for the teachers because she’ll be trying to teach and talk to them and all she sees is 20 black screens and no one responds. At my school if your video is off you get marked absent. Just because were remote doesn’t mean you can just take the easy road.

We had virtual Fridays 2020-21 and in some classes we had to have our cameras on but in other classes we didn't have to. We aren't having that this year so there are some things that I will miss but idk if I will like being back to 5 days a week
