Also, somebody who studied Latin posted about this on reddit a while back. It is basically a pretty poor 'Google translate' into Latin which doesn't make too much sense to someone who properly understands the language. Which in fact makes it even more meaningless as a result! Not sure whether that was intentional or not, but it's genius either way! 🤣

My favourite thing about this song is that Proletius comes forth with his host of deathknights, and begins slaughtering peasants with impunity. Proletius always slaughters peasants, it's what he does. But why are there so many peasants randomly in the middle of an epic battle?! Can Proletius actually do anything other than slaughter peasants?! Who even cares? Certainly not Ralathor, who *straight up nukes him* in response...

@@The_Amortal_Univursal_Emperor Well, Zargothrax wasn't defeated instantly. There might've been a struggle where he got just close enough to stab Angus McFife XIII. And since it's a battle, the adrenaline running through Angus' veins would've prevented him from noticing the wound until after the fight.

I always imagine this song accompanied with Borderlands style visuals. When Proletius is introduced, he gets his title card. "DREADLORD PROLETIUS!" Meanwhile Ralathor's title card is MISSILES OF NUCLEAR JUSTICE. No idea why I even envision those for this song, but - That's imagination for you!

Movement III "Return of the Astral Demigod of Unst" is probably my favorite moment in all of media, especially if you listen to all three albums back to back to back. After nearly two and a half hours of music and epic stories, when all seems lost "From the heavens comes a hero, mighty Hootsman. Meaningless latin chanting." The high note on "shoots goblins out of sight" his speech to Zargothrax. The momentum out of the speech. It's an absolutely perfect culmination of the story and the greatest climax definitely of any music, and probably of any media ever.

Things I love about this song............................ 1) The cheesy fake Latin 2) Ralathor nuking the Death Knights of Crail (Make that their 3rd defeat so far, the other two were against the chaos wizards in Space 1992) 3) The Hootsman's entrance/epic boast to Zargothrax 4) The old dial up internet sound near the end (it makes me grin every time)

Angus McFife can never be replaced. The only way to continue the band is to respect Thomas' legacy and continue with a new protagonist, and when they do songs from previous albums to treat it as legends. I cannot see anyone else donning the title of Angus McFife.

But the the thing is, since for now we know there are 13 generations of Angus, there are at least 9 generations to fill the slot (we already had Thomas as the First and Last generations, the new singer as 5 in Fly Away and maybe 2 in the upcoming album). Remember, just because they may be the reincarnations of the first Angus, that doesn't mean they had to have the same faces and voices. As long as they respect the legacy (in and out universe) of Thomas and choose someone worthy enough to fill the slot, they can do whatever they see fit to expand the lore and continue the legacy of the Angus bloodline.

Just the story alone is fucking amazing. Such an amazing band. The stories in their albums are killer. Power metal is such a great genre of music. It's one where you can make up anything and make it sound absolutely killer. This band in specific is one if my favorites if not my favorite. Dragonforce has has close second.

6:06-7:17 is metal as fuck if you can imagine it as angus and hootsman both throwing every attack in there books at xargothrax who is only surviving the onslaught of there fury through teleportation body substitution and force shields while the duo is deflecting and dodging his lethal spells until they finally land clean blows at the endgame the cost of angus getting stabbed of course...

Aside of the obvious (and expected) cheesiness, this is really one of the best songs I've ever listened to! Full of ideas, great segments and it visualizes a battle of epic proportions, like a tremendous final act of a weird musical :) Simply stunning!

This song is a wild ride from start to finish. My favorite thing about gloryhammer is explaining the story of the songs to my friends when they ask. What's this song about? Oh its about the final fight between angus and zargothrax, sub commander ralathor battles the death knights of crail and launches some nukes then angus goes to fight zargothrax before he gains godlike power, but is to late. Until the hootsman comes from the sky as a god in this universe and helps angus obliterate him and then angus yeets himself into a volcano in the end because he was cut with a knife that makes you go evil

The morse code at the end of the song translates to "Activate Zargothrax Clone Alpha #1" Maybe the next album takes place after this one, where a Zargothrax clone takes the originals place after his defeat, and we have a new hero added to tbe story.
