On Friday 31 May - Sunday 2 June, Glossop & District Round Table put on the Glossop Heritage Weekend, a free event in the town for residents and visitors to celebrate in the history and culture of Glossop
It was fun-filled from start to finish, with perfect weather for a great crowd all weekend.
Thanks to Glossop and District Round Table for inviting us along to film the event, and thanks to Lomas Marquees for lending us a spacious, luxurious and very orange space for the weekend.
A daunting amount of footage from the weekend was filmed by High Peak TV, and after going through three days of footage from seven different cameras, we have decided to make several shorter videos, rather than one big event video.
This first video focuses on the parade, which was made up of floats, re-enactors, vintage vehicle, tractor engine owners, Shire Horse owners, cadets, scouts, choirs, bands and volunteer groups.
A lot of hard work was put in by the volunteer marshals, selling programmes, litter picking and keeping everyone safe.
Having been unsuccessful in 30+ grant applications, with only the Ashby Fund making small but very welcome donation, it fell to the Round Table beer tent and the following local business sponsors to help make it possible:
