Taking a first look of the Glossop Line, a sort of Manchester 'metro' route, running from the huge Manchester Piccadilly station to Hadfield, running via Glossop respectively, and making its return is the Hyper Networker Class 323, now in the splendid Northern livery...and yes a new TOC. Hope you enjoy!

At Manchester Picadilly, guards don't give you the right away, dispatchers do. They change the OFF indicator to "RA" for Right Away

@@TheBritishAce Not sure, I asked a guard once why she didn’t give have to give the right away and she said it was because the indicator changed to RA. I’m not sure which one she was talking about though.

The CD/RA would be on the signal at the end of the platform 👍

Reason I think there is a guard buzzer on the 158 is because there is no door button in the cab, so all units require a guard to operate the doors from the panel. Trains with door control on the cab won’t require a guard

that abandoned stop after godley is called godley east and was abandoned in the 60s - 70s i think

another difference to the cross city/northern 323s the northern 323s aws plunger is only a button and is painted silver

Fun fact: Ardwick is one of the least used train station in Greater Manchester.

More annoying speed limits are . Island line 10mph at sandown . West Somerset railway 5mph into Dunster . Bakerloo 10mph at Queen's park and Elephant

ok so the glosop line never runs an all stops service the first station you pass is ardwick wich ive never seen a train a train stopped there and they only stop at fairfield and Gorton in the peak times, the ones that do stop at fairield gorton and ardwick are the rose hill marple services that are normaly ran by either sprinters or 195s

in real life youll only ever see 2 323s at pic at annyone time one on the crews return and one on the glossop line

Only time I have seen HST was during the West Coast Mainline blockade when they sent some down the Midland Main Line to provide extra capacity. Virgin Trains used to run thdmoccasionally from Euston. Only other time was to provide extra capacity to Liverpool during the Grand National 10 plus years ago, .

Ardwick station is a limited served station

I watched a driver's eye view a few months ago and I believe it is only served a few times a week.The station has just one train in each direction calling on Monday to Friday in the winter 2019-20 timetable. These trains have additionally called at the station on Saturdays from May 2018.

nope this has never bieng operated by pacers the rose hill services were but the 323s were purchased by br/norhtern specialy for routs like this one

It was electrified in the 1950’s DC current then moved over to AC in 1984. Pacers were very occasional used during blockades etc.

We actually use pacers during extreme heat as the overheads sag so can't use the 323s

Southeastern High Speed needs some scenery fixes and fills. There are bushes and some trees that stick out in the tracks. It just needs a good polishing. Some fields that are bare as bone and look ugly.

Granted, DTG does do stupid things sometimes, but some people are never happy and like to complain all the time. DTG are listening better to the community. Would I like to see some things improve, sure but some things take time and we got to have patience. I have been disappointed before with them on some decisions and have been happy with other things. They are not perfect and show me anybody or company that is.
