Now that all the Arkham Knight DLC is here, we though it was time to finish off some more "Character Stories" where we focus on only one character in the Batman games. This shows Mr. Freeze's story throughout the entire Arkham series
Victor Fries, aka Mr Freeze, is one of Batman's most infamous enemies. Once a respected and brilliant cryogenicist, Dr. Victor Fries turned to a life of crime after his wife, Nora Fries, who Victor cryogenically froze to develop enough time to create a cure for her rare illness, was stolen away from him by his corrupt CEO, Ferris Boyle. In the confusion, Fries was drenched in the cryogenic chemicals that he had created to freeze Nora, which changed his metabolism. The result was Mr. Freeze, a cold-blooded villain motivated by the desire to save and cure his wife and kill anyone who would stand in his way.
We will also be doing Killer Croc, and perhaps others from Batman. We'll also be doing the Arbiter from Halo and Ezio from Assassin's Creed. If you have any suggestions on other character stories that span across several titles, lets us know!

I love how Batman can kick a dude's ass and still have a pleasant-ish conversation with the dude after. Batman and Mister Freeze do have a mutual respect for one another. Heck, in the right circumstances, they make powerful allies. But as it is, they just too often find themselves on opposite sides of the spectrum.

This is why I love Mr Freeze. He is made out to be this bad person, but really he is just trying so hard to save his wife. He doesn't do it for money, he doesn't do it for power. He does it to love again, no matter how long it takes. I'm nearly the same with my dad. He is not dead or dying, but he is in a lot of pain. I would do the same as Freeze for someone I really care about. No matter how many times he gets beat down by Batman, he will never stop looking for a cure, even though there is not one. He just does it for love.

I like that ending. It's not so happy that they get to live together. But after the suffering Freeze endured and the time Nora lost. I think just living out their final days with each other is the sweetest thing right now.

Again, we really love doing these, and you guys have had such great responses to the other "Character Stories." We plan on doing some more and am open to suggestions. We for sure are doing the "Arbiter Story" from Halo. It preferable will span across multiple titles since it'll make the vids all the more epic. Leave any suggestions here!

He definitely has a semblance of a story in Arkham Knight, but I honestly haven't gone through his missions in the other ones to know if he has a real story or if it's just a bunch of fetch quest. There was someone I knew. Someone that was a huge part of my life. She had contracted cancer long before we met. She helped me grow up a lot and for the longest time her feelings for me were one sided because of our age difference and I didn't see her as girlfriend material because I was in love with a woman who didn't return those affections. Our final falling out was the hardest, and...I'm skipping all the drama that happened. She had been sent to the hospital and she stayed there for a long time until she had been moved to respite care. She forgave me for not being there when it got rough. We shared a hug and when i think back to that moment, I wish I'd have hugged her tighter. That was the last I saw her before she died. That moment comes to mind when I see Victor telling his wife that he didn't her to die. Regardless of the drama, I envy Victor because he and Nora in this storyline had a chance to be together before the end came. Out of all the Bat-villains covered in this game Victor Fries was done justice. I hope that the movies to come will cover it more maturely than that retarded Schwarzenegger treatment decades ago.

Exactly. Freeze didn't think Batman would just go and save Nora. He thought he had to hold the chance at the cure over his head. Freeze isn't evil but it's the old "Evil cannot comprehend good" trope where villains don't think heroes would do good things for them because they wouldn't do good things for the heroes. Because he wouldn't save one of Batman's loved ones for him he thought he need to leverage the cure to get Batman to save Nora. Even though a cured Batman going to save her would have made things easier.

In case if anyone is still confuse for Freeze's death. The cryo tank in the lab has affected anyone near the blast, causes their skin turn blue. The guard, who's affected by the tank, died in heat stroke because the coolant has made their body forever bond in the cold than the warm. Freeze knew he'll die if he leaves the lab, that is why he built and wear a protection suit to protect himself from the warmth. And yes, his suit was severely damaged and beyond repair. Then he know Nora and his fate are connected, their love lives than themselves.

Batman: The Animated Series totally reinvented him into one of the most captivating characters in comic book history, one of the most identifiable and relatable personas. He's a man pushed to an extreme and has become Shakespearean in nature. He embodies loss, despair, and having something just out of reach. And even if he reaches it, he can never enjoy it. He says he wants to hold her hand again. He can't. Not in his condition. Even if he cures her he can never get what he truly wants, just the simple act of an embrace. In one of the profiles in the games, I believe about Nora herself, it states that Victor's love for her is undying. And that is true. Undying, and in a sense since she's frozen and out of reach, unrequited. His reinvention as a character was so good that everyone started using it for him. That's how good it was.

He is aging back nor forwards because his body is below freezing but if he wasn’t wearing the suit and was in an area above freezing then he ages forwards

His aging is stalled and we have no idea how else the chemicals mutated Victor. He might had a regeneration ability that reverses the damage to his body. Like he has hair in Knight when he was half in Origins and City, and he regenerated his ears ( which were falling off in Origins and City.) It would play in well with the idea of him being immortal. Since really he can't die unless he's exposed to hear. Otherwise, he's going to be a really depressing Vandal Savage in the future.

people may hate the voice over actors they got to play Batman/Joker, but I think they did a really fantastic job making those characters their own. Origins was a joy to play, that Firefly boss fight was really creative. Currently running around in Arkham Knight, trying my best not to get too overwhelmed with everything and loving every minute of it

Batman was more compassionate in origins. Not do much in city. In fact, if bruce ever gave a damn, he would have found a cure for Nora, just like in subzero. Instead, he continues his little vigilante game without ever really helping the victims. Freeze would be happy if batman has just found a cure.

He was more compassionate in Origins because he was a bit naive to the game, that's why in Arkham CIty he was more aggressive to the villains. Also Batman could have invested some of his millions for research, but from what I learned that Mr. Fries was the only one researching the rare disease Nora had because his wife was the only one in the DC universe who apparently had it. If Fries asked nicely, im pretty sure Batman would help but I'm sure Fries wouldnt want anyone touching his wife by getting samples and running tests. So its like eh
