I feel these games should have all but the final girl or guy, preferable the person on the cover of the game be the sole survivor, basically you have to play these games with failure in mind to bring out the true horror of the story, making it better suited to being converted into a movie, a horror movie to be exact.

The words used can be different, but the same meaning still stands of course. Think of the difference between an Australian accent or dialect, and that of a Southern American dialect. But then again, just like English, Arabic has many dialects, which can differ within the same country as well. Egyptians themselves for instance, have various dialects from the different parts of the 100 million strong nation. The same goes for Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait etc. By way of example, I as an Emirati would say: “شحالك؟" to someone when asking them “How are you?” Whereas an Egyptian would say “ازيك؟", an Iraqi would say “شلونك؟", and a Syrian/Lebanese would go with "كيفاك؟" etc. Incidentally, we would all understand what is being asked of us, when asked regardless which of these words is used. I think that’s the case also, because the words are very close, and that the slang words are understood due to immigration of Arabs to other Arab nations, and least we forget, the exposure to popular culture, be it via movies, tv shows, theatre, or songs. If I’m not mistaken, you’re a Dane, and as far as my humble knowledge goes, a Dane would understand Norwegian and Swedish, though they are different languages, rather than mere dialects of the same language. Oh, and all newspapers, magazines, official documents is written, read, and spoken in Classical Arabic. So, when you turn on the evening news in the UAE, it’s being read the same way as Morocco. The only difference would be when they interview people on the street, you would start noticing the different accents of the people in-question. Do forgive me for writing these words in Arabic, but I simply couldn’t think of another to better explain the matter at hand. Nonetheless, I hope I did elaborate enough.

I've been saying this to nearly everyone I talk to about it, but I really wish we could have had a game dealing with Ancient Mesopotamian history, religions, culture, etc. that dealt with ACTUAL DEMONS instead of "surprise, they're aliens!" again. Like they have a whole TV series dedicated to this bs. Can we just get some real demons, real history, real culture, etc. for ONCE?

@@Paladinakos4ever Out of curiosity, how much of that was to do with the monster designs? lol I personally felt (and I've heard others say it too) that it was kinda bland. I definitely also think it's hard to make scary looking monsters these days, but they to me definitely felt like something I'd already seen before.

@@robertgibb6990 it’s doesn’t always has to give that pristine and unexplored feeling , (dark pictures is doing it finely ) and since we are playing more with imagination and the plot that exists since our earlier ages where vampires came out, (a dozen games and movies) it made me think of blood omen 2 vampire and aliens the Sarafans. That did it for me , end of story… …well throughout decades,plot is evolved and blended , see alien mythology… to pretador….to avp… to game adaptations.. to prometheus and goes on … I hope I made a point and didn’t confused you any further

Certainly there are topics that have already been explored and can still have games/movies/books/etc. made about them that end up good. But for me, what bothered me was that it was a golden opportunity to look at this from a more "historically grounded" perspective. It's not that I hate aliens (far from it, Alien Isolation for example is an AMAZING game), I just simply would have LOVED to have seen Ancient Mesopotamian Demons explored much more. To each their own, and you're definitely entitled to your tastes, the alien twist just wasn't to my tastes, and I'd love to see a movie or game delve into the "Supernatural" element of Mesopotamian religions and myths.

@@bonk8668 well Magpul didnt make stocks or any other furniture for M4s in 2003, Travis Haley and Chris Costa were only making mag pulls, sling loops, and other minor accesories, since both guys were still deployed overseas and fighting wars. AFG's also were not popular since guys were already running things like KAC and Tango Down foregrips or their own jerry rigged accessories. AFGs aren't even popular today....

@@bonk8668 The guns and gear is clearly modeled after modern day equipment. Laser Cut MOLLE webbing was definitely not around in 03 lol. They also have Gen5 Glocks, which you can tell by the front slide serations. It's honestly not that difficult to be time-period accurate for games and movies given the information and experts out there

@@deejay1534 yeah I went back and checked my stuff ur completely right although I did see a thing on Wikipedia which I know isn't a reliable source but it said in 2002 that a order was made for 100 m93 stocks but even if that's true it still doesn't make sense for them to be using afg stocks

@@bonk8668 M93 stocks would've been around in the mid 2000's, in 02 they were still running Colt collapsible stocks. There's almost nothing out there about their use and the guys who I've talked to never touched them, since the milspec stocks were fine. Magpul, VLTOR, TangoDown, and LMT were the main guys making accessories and furniture back in the day and even then, they didn't have a whole lot compared to now.
