Adding Weight to your Dumbbells & Affordable US Made Fractional Plates (Micro Gainz)

Күн бұрынDumbbells are expensive and adding weight to your dumbbells isn't possible, right? I'd love to get heavier dumbbells but the next pair up would cost me over $650 shipped. Or I could get these add-ons by Micro Gainz for my dumbbells for SO much less. These add versatility to my dumbbells and allow us to move up in half weight increments as well. Or, too many people on the 30s? Convert the 25s to 30s by clipping these onto your dumbbells. The best part about Micro Gainz is the dumbbell add-ons aren't even their most popular product. Their fractional plates (like the everything they sell) are made in the US and well made as well.
In this video we check out some of their products and see how they perform. I've had and beat on their dumbbell add-ons and fractional plates for awhile now and couldn't find too much information about them, so here it is!

The ultimate micro loading is attaching drawstring bags to both sides of the barbell and then loading them with pennies, dimes, nickels, and quarters. Taking Micro Gainz to a whole new level.

So I thought this was a pretty silly product and was going to make a sarcastic comment (something to the effect of "I just micro load the barbell with my wife and daughters stray hairs, didn't get to finish workshopping the joke) until you got to the dumbbell change plates. That actually makes a lot more sense with my loadable dumbbells.

With Amazon it gets here at least 2 days before Titan (it's been almost 2 days and they might ship in the next 3-5 business days) and the weight tolerance is way better. I'm also all for it being made in the USA and like the look, though I would have gone for a thinner plate if you had it.

The knurling of your dumbbells might scratch the coating on the micro Gainz plate but otherwise they're not going to hurt the metal of your dumbbells

@@willpate3457 Both of the dumbbell plate versions will clamp onto a rubber handle. In fact rubber will create some friction which will stop the plates from moving at all.

@@microgainz Thanks. My main concern would be the metal on rubber friction while taking them on and off. Not sure how much pressure is applied or if there is any sharpness to the edges of the plates.

They're basically 1lb or below, fractions of a pound (or I suppose kilo)

I need like 5 lbs. Too expensive. I can get 2-35pound DB's for 85 bucks.

Someone needs to make these in 2.5lb each, so you can add 5lbs to each dumbbell. Then you can just get hex dumbbells in 10lb increments and use them to fill in the gaps. Boom, hex DBs are now half price. Anyone listening? Is it possible? Closest thing I've seen is the ridiculously overpriced Rogue 2lb ones. But that would get you 20lb, 24lb, 30lb, 34lb, 40lb, 44lb, etc. Prob good enough, but the 6lb gap would annoy me lol

They make them in 2.5 lbs but only the older style. The newer style only goes up to 1.25lbs at the moment.

Sorry I probably confused them with the Rogue's that cost $15 more for 3 sets (3 lbs) before shipping costs than the entire set of 5 sets of Micro Gainz shipped . All fractional plates are expensive, they're tiny and still have to go through a manufacturing process.
