@@studdaman420 both awesome motors, the LS series is probably the most iconic of our generation. I had an LS3 stroked to 416ci and it was a monster! also a gear box destroyer too haha

@@davidfletcher6399 I agree. Both awesome engines. The LS is more practical to the average guy as it is plentiful and cheap when compared to the 572. But if you have the money and the right project for it, there is nothing else like it! I want to put the 572 in an old hearse with side exhaust and a muscle car stance. Then paint it with Line-x and put every chrome skull accessory on it for that added effect! 🤘😁👌

Imagine it being supercharged
@sjgavenger375 жыл бұрын
They have them twin turbo kicking over 2000hp. Actually with racing fuel close to 2700hp and on pump gas about 1900 I think it was.
@sjgavenger374 жыл бұрын
@Mike Lyons Yeah but with turbo get more power per dollar spent. Superchargers add power but about half the power a turbo does and cost about the same as a turbo. Also turbo's can still be hidden under the hood and not have to cut a hole in the hood.
@sjgavenger374 жыл бұрын
@Mike Lyons Turbo's provide power at higher rpms. Blowers provide power along a wider range of rpm. That is why. Or do you not understand how turbo's and blowers work? Blowers are run off the crank shaft and provide power pretty much instantly while turbo's need to rev up to over 3000 rpm. Now if you revved a nitro burning car up like to 3000rpm with any stress that engine would explode and that it would not only be very dangerous. It would also most likely over heat the engines. Also revving up an engine with 10,000 up to 3000 rpm then dumping the clutch would amount to instant wheel spin and or total distraction of the clutch. Nitro cars don't use transmissions in the classical sense like your every day car does. It is nothing but a serious of clutches that engine different gear ratios without having to actually "shift". So to compare turbo's and blowers with nitro cars is not really a good comparison. So how about doing a little research on KZfaq because there are many videos comparing the good And the bad or turbo's vs blowers. Each have specific applications that each is better for then the other. For racing sure blowers might be better but for every day driving turbo's are better. To is all breaks down to how do you intend to use the vehicle. So a more accurate comparison would be the gas class in drag racing. Like 90% of that class use turbos compared to blowers. So ask yourself why is that?
@sjgavenger374 жыл бұрын
@Mike Lyons Or a much simpler explanation as to why a turbo is better then a supercharger/blower... A supercharger doesn't work off the exhaust gas, it is attached to your engine and spins with the crankshaft. When the crankshaft spins the supercharger, it forces air into the motor. The turbo is more efficient as it doesn't require engine power to spin it, so it makes more power per boost.Oct 24, 2012 Did you know it takes 1000 hp to just turn the blower on a top fuel nitro burning engine? So just imagine how much power they could produce if they used twin turbo's. They would produce more power then the mechanical parts can handle this could never keep the engine running.
@sjgavenger374 жыл бұрын
@Mike Lyons Let's see here I can't post a picture but a super charged 572 produces 940hp while a single turbo charger 572 produces between 1300-1400. And with the turbo you don't need to cut a huge whole in the hood and loose visibility. Now convert those numbers I to a nitro burning engine and it would probably go from the current 10,000 hp to around 15,000 hp or more. The pistons and rods and cranks and all the internal parts would most likely break apart with our current technology. And I would guess that is why top fuel hasn't switched over to turbos.

LS engines can make big power, but not like a big block especially when I come to torque. Sometime in the future I'm having a 632 big block built making 850hp/820tq on pump gas for 11 grand. LS ain't doing that 😂
@studdaman4205 жыл бұрын
Plus the 572 makes that bone stock. Daily driver dependable. You can make so much power with one of these things it isn't even comparable. I've seen these make 1000hp on pump gas n/a with a cam and brodix heads headers, plenty of fuel and a Holley Dominator to manage it all. Think it may have had forged internals too. But it was set up to handle boost eventually.

GM or General Motors has owed Chevrolet since probably the late 20s early 30s and Yes you are right to a degree but so are the replies making fun of you as well. Each division of General Motors at one time were all small separate companies. however I do believe chevy was theirs from the start. But in order to compete against henry for who had all ready established dominance in the automobile industry by one selling a car that the average joe could buy, not just vehicles geared toward the rich and elite upper glass, he also started the assembly line way of building cars. his first warehouse was a closed down meat packing plant and it was the tracks with hangers only the ceiling for sliding cows and pigs around the room so each station could cut just there part of the job, henry thought why not!.. why not build cars the same way so they did initially using the same tracks and hangers. So Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile, and Cadillac came together and formed General Motors Corp. instantly equaling if not becoming bigger then henry ford and ford motor co. over night later they added GMC, Amc then sold it, Hummer, Saturn, and they owned several other along the way like Lotus, Holden, triumph at one time, opel. should of kept that going. and had a chance to buy out toyota just prior to datsun and toyotas arrival into the states. but with a closed mind not being able to see beyond the big heavy solid steel gas guzzlers americans made loved and drove, they were ignorant and big headed and said aww those little cars with little weak motors will never take off. LMFAO. yup even multi billion dollar corp. fuck up!.. and multiply times too like they are all about to do by eliminating the bulk of the sedan cars for small and large suvs and crossovers and trucks., only.
