This video examines two timing chain tensioners used on GM's Ecotec engines. First we'll take a close look at the original tensioner from a 2.2L engine in a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, suspected of contributing to the chain jumping time. Then we'll dis-assemble the replacement: an upgraded part that is the latest design. Special attention is given to showing how to de-activate the tensioner, readying it to install.
