In a previous video, Naka told an opponent that one of the worst things you can do against a Super GM is get into an end game, where you'll always get outplayed. This was a pretty good illustration of that as Ari looked to have an advantage for much of the game and he was done in the end game.

@@lancewildwood2277 They don’t have every single endgame memorized. Most of these endgames they’ve never even been in the position before. They just memorize general tactics. And the issue is the clock and playing quickly, not the endgame. Only Magnus really thinks as quickly and precisely as Hikaru in Blitz chess. So when time starts getting low, opponents are going to make more blunders than Hikaru. They just aren’t as good, and there’s not much you can do about that.

@@Hester_prynne Which means you are not getting his best gameplay. You force him into an unfavorable situation making it harder for him. It wouldn’t matter if Magnus or anyone else, because they all feel the pressure and make blunders when low on time. Would I get excited about having to handicap a GM to win? For me, it would be like taking a exam with the answers to the first 30 questions. I state the obvious, because people saying “you nearly beat him or beating him” doesn’t hold as much relevance, because there are time odds. He blundered badly against that Russian player because of the time odds.

at 10:34 when choosing different pahts after the pin/queen trade attack, we can also choose to defend our queen with the rook, using Rook b3 that also atacks enemy queen while protecting our own if a trade occurs. also, if that happens, the towers get aligned on the same path so knight cant take pawn easily without punishment. Htere is also a chance to go for a rook trade taking that knight and the pawn if needed, to convert the 2 middle pawns into endgame with bishop supporting them.

Nice of Hikaru to play against random players. Even comes with a free analysis.

What about Ne4 instead of e6? There’s almost certainly a solid response for black there but I can’t see it because you just take back with the rook if pawn takes and it seems like there’s a good attack there

Ari did not "snipe off" that battery H pawn. You think Hikaru missed that? You could see him pause for a WHOLE second looking at it, and decided to let him have it. He wanted an interesting game.

That streamer sure is good. If only he applied himself like his opponent, who let him off easy, he could be a super GM or something. Good stuff!

Archer fits very good. But after shooting out its eyes hurting the kraken any further is quite hard!

I think Hikaru didn't want to go over the trouble of protecting c6 after QXe4 and potentially losing 3 pawns
