I admire Ashley for stepping up publically because the lips will flap, and it proves no matter how famous, no matter how much money you have, mental illiness can strike any family, and there are people out there to help. My cousin went golfing the day before this past mother's day, & all was well. Cousin's buddy shot himself the on mother's day. Their circle of pal's are in shock especially my cousin who said they had a great golf game & everything was good (he thought). His pal was aged 31.

Not unlike other similar scenes many others not famous have dealt with. Ashley told her story before someone else did for them. Understandable. She didn’t want to, but knew tabloids would have a field day, otherwise. What’s so hard for you to grasp? Pops was out of town. Of course 911/Police were called first, you poor fool. Same here. I am so sorry to know others out there also feel so much pain. In my own darkest moments, I literally will start to believe that "this is how I can help my loved ones, if I go, then they can stop worrying about me etc.". I Know how this sounds logically. But in the dark moments when the disease tells you the worst things about yourself, you really believe everyone would be better off if you were gone. Not because of lack of love but because you feel like you cause people pain and anguish. Not to mention your own mental hell. It is such a terrible disease and I hope that Naomi's family and that anyone out there who has survived a loved one ending their suffering so suddenly, I just hope they know in their heart that this was in no way anyone's "fault" and the inner pain gets so bad that they believe it is best for their loved ones. Even though it is NOT and causes the worst pain and trauma for them. But the disease tricks us into truly thinking this way. My heart breaks for Ashley and Wynona and Larry. Just breaks for them.

Such a raw thing to talk about so soon, but she articulated herself very well. I appreciate her being willing to talk about her mother's death. That she has gone through depression herself gives her a perspective many family members do not. I have been suicidal and always appreciate when someone is willing and able to speak about it. The more we can make resources and support available for each other, my hope is the fewer of us will be lost.

My mother died at 56 from alcohol. I never knew any other kind of Mother. I was abused in every single way from the age of 3. I am now 61, and can still literally taste the cigarette put in my mouth, and the alcohol poured down my throat….as a toddler. I have memories that no human should ever have. I grew up on a California beach, in Santa Cruz….and witnessed my Mother walk into the ocean several times…. attempting suicide. The ocean was literally across a narrow road and down some boulders. It took 60 seconds to get from our front door to the water’s edge. She could not swim. I was 8 when I retrieved her from the ocean the first time……and let’s just say I became a world class swimmer by the time I was 8 1/2. As a child I came to the conclusion that while the world itself, meaning Earth, is staggeringly beautiful, life itself can be so cruel. LIFE IS EASY FOR NO ONE. Not one single person. And it’s still true today, I still feel this way despite what SOCIAL MEDIA tries to cram down our throats. There is a price to pay for residency here- and that price is experiencing AND overcoming life, and finding a path to survive on. If you’re doing really well, you find a path that allows you to thrive…. eventually. It won’t be easy. But when you DO experience that first feeling of coming through a lifetime of bad experiences, to the OTHER side? It can be wonderful. Refreshing, rejuvenating, blissful…..but we must stay vigilant, for that OTHER side remains… in the distance…

As a little girl in the south, I grew up listening to & admiring the Judds. Seeing & hearing such talented, faithful, God fearing, intelligent, beautiful, honest, & most importantly genuine ladies was a huge inspiration. I especially appreciated the honesty & unashamed openness with which they were both willing, & kind enough to share their struggles to help others. Their music is often like the soundtrack for my memories & I treasure that as I would a gift. As someone who’s lived through traumatic formative years that resulted in a continuing battle & struggle with my mental health & well-being, it really helped to know I wasn’t alone. To know no matter how great or how small our status or stature in life, it is a complicated kind of dance of endurance of ups & downs the valleys & mountains for us all was helpful. There is a deep pain that comes with exposing vulnerabilities by opening up about your difficulties. Those who have such empathy that they’re willing to endure it because they care so deeply about helping others, to me is an example of selfless love. That kind of quality in a person raises them from simply being endearing to an admirable, powerful, motivational, & incredibly inspirational. My heart goes out to the Judd family. For me, they were such a staple in my life that it almost feels like we all share in their loss of a beloved family member. Naomi leaves behind an incredibly legacy & a powerful message. More often than not we can see the beauty & best in others they can’t see in themselves. Remind those you cherish & adore not only that you do, but why you do. Encourage them, labor with them, & never take a single breath for granted. I pray the grace, peace, & comfort only God can give be with them & strengthen them in their loss.

Amen sister stay close to Jesus in prayer. If you're still dealing with mental health problems just find a good Pentecostal Church where they do Deliverance. This is what Diana her real name should have done. The Baptists don't do it the Methodist don't do it the Roman Catholic Church doesn't do it right. Getting Deliverance or an exorcism can set you free from all the trauma from all the pain of the past. Even if it's not your fault as a child trauma can cause demons to come into your life it's not fair I know. But this is what is needed in society besides society getting back into the church instead of throwing God away throwing the Bible away throwing Jesus away

My very beautiful mother died a week before Naomi… at the age of 80… after a battle with dementia, that robbed her of her dignity and humanity… in the end, she chose to quit eating and drinking… it was evident that she was still able to swallow, but, she refused to eat or drink… she knew who we were until her last breath. The death of Naomi Judd came so soon after my mothers passing, that it sparked an interest in me, about how her life ended in this tragedy. I reflected alot on our mother/daughter relationship… even though she was my dearest friend, we had rocky times too. Interviews Naomi gave, indicated that her dark depression began soon after her last tour… for which a documentary recorded the events… most revealing were the last two episodes. There was also a Christmas special Wynonna did in 2020, for KZfaq from her home. I suspect the timing and circumstances, surrounding the day she chose to leave this world were not coincidence, or taken lightly. I suspect that Naomi experienced many hurts, from those she loved, devoted.and trusted most, based on her interviews and the documentary. Hopefully, there will be meaningful reflection. I believe her family are strong believers in the advice given to us in the Bible, and they will use that to help them heal and move forward in love and care. Matthew 18: 15-17. I have no idea how the pressure for fame impacts a family… but, based on their choice to remain in close proximity to each other, I’m sure they had a great love for each other, and my heart goes out to them in these days of grief.

Hello Reverend, So do you think Naomi is in heaven? I personally do but I wonder if she ever Sought Deliverance? Another words an exorcism or 2 for all the things she went through in life? I don't think she ever did because she was raised in the Baptist Church I heard that she was involved with a Methodist Church the last couple of years. The only church that does exorcisms are Pentecostals and charismatics. But I'm not sure if she ever went to a Pentecostal Church if she had I think she would still be with us.

If you’re so ‘concerned’, & ‘care’, pray for their continued strength. Leave the speculations for the gossip columns. Which I’m sure you’ll be very interested in what they have to say. The ONLY reason Ashley came fwd w/ANY info, was to try to cut those sick ppl off, before they could run wild w/their ‘theories’. This is a nightmare for them! As it has been for too many others, who haven’t had to air their personal laundry out for the world, to stop them from ‘talking.’ You don’t know that it was done “when she stepped away to open the door!” She only went to her moms room b/c someone came to visit her. It could have been done well before that! When Ashley may have been outside the home. *You don’t know! So please **_stop_** fueling gossip!* IF you ‘care’ about them.🙄 Of course most do it when alone. Duh. She may not have been totally alone, but she was alone in her room. And many have done it when home w/others present & did it in their room, or basement. Especially younger ppl & teens. You can’t ‘teach’ me anything dear. I worked w/big city crime for years. Seen it all. You will never know the _actual details & truth._ Only Ashley & Wynonna will. So go spin your sad need in a more positive direction & help someone you know needs it. Please don't take your life. I lost only sister a year half ago. I was paralyzed with grief for the first few months, I had to force myself to get off the couch to go to bathroom, eat or do any basic human functions. I was not suicidal, but I had this strong desire to go and be with her. It hasn't been a day that I haven't cried since. She too, suffered for a few months before she died. My two brothers and I, all have PTSD from seeing her suffer. My point is that, you are not alone, we all will feel tremendous loss at one point or another in our lives. Your life is as precious as your sister's, so don't inflict the same kind of heartbreak to your living loved ones. Just remember as sad as you feel now, the pain that the loved ones will feel after a suicide is 100X worse. Just hang in there, please. Grief is universal, and you're still alive. Try to doing random act of kindness towards others. I donated to charities after she passed, and on her first year anniversary. But you can do many things that costs very little, or no money. Like go visit, or call a lonely elderly neighbour. It's a scientific fact, that pleasure parts of the brain light up, not only on the person who is doing the good deed, and the person who is receiving it, but it also on people who witness the act of kindness!

I knew one lady from our village, her husband drank a lot and would often go drive around town looking for liquor and she decided to put a stop on it, so she hid his keys. In one of the episodes, where he needed his drink and she wasn’t giving in, he claimed he would kill himself (as always). She said fine, so he went and found a shotgun in the house that was hidden for 60 years, came back with it and shot himself in the face. She was in such shock, that she stood on the same spot for 3 days until another neighbor walked in for something. I assume, when you live with someone with mental illness, you get conditioned to certain aspects of their behavior and don’t take half the things to your heart, because you get emotionally exhausted dealing with it on top of your own life problems or tired over giving all the help and aid the other one is not valuing. I guess that’s why she feels she wished she would’ve done something differently or it was preventable. It’s important to promote support groups for people dealing with mentally ill family members etc, just to stay alert, sane and not feel lonely in all of it.

She wasn’t thinking clearly. The disease had won. Probably when Ashley left the room, the thought came to her that this was her only opportunity… even though she had just before that asked Ashley to stay with her. She would have known that the family friend was there to comfort Ashley and that Wynonna was also in town. So she knew Ashley wouldn’t be alone. But most likely, as to why, an impulsive thought hit her that this might have been her only opportunity to be alone. So she took it.

Would you say the same to someone who died of diabetes?? Make it seem like it was a lack of faith they weren't healed from their diabetes?? See the ignorance in your comment yet, bc we all do, inc Jesus Himself. Depression is genetic, hereditary, chemical & a mood regulation disorder, along with often times childhood trauma. Naomi loved the Lord, had a fantastic relationship with Christ but like cancer, diabetes, congestive heart failure, ALS, Covid, etc. Christians still die despite being devout believers with great faith. It's a disease, an insidious one that is a brain disorder, mood disorder, personality disorder, chemical disorder, genetic disorder. Has absolutely nothing to do with having a relationship with Christ. Christians still have illnesses & die from them! Brain disorders are no different! I am truly sorry for your loss. Like she said The Loss is as large is the Love you have for them. My Uncle was secretly suffering and he was wonderful kind so loving .We have a huge family but not one of us could see the pain and agony thru his beautiful smile. He went out one day not even 3 blocks from his home and was so distraught because he got lost an feared he had dementia. He finally got home an took his life. He was 79 yrs old.

My question is how come Ashley didn't hear the gunshot? Since they were the only two in the house what was that conversation like in her mother's bedroom before she went downstairs to answer the door? Why would her mother pick that moment after that conversation? Because I know they didn't get along very well because of Ashley's political views liberal left-wing agenda hatred of Donald Trump. So I really would like to know what that conversation was about hopefully the truth comes out!

I hope that doctors will listen and heed when clients suffers from depression and channel them to right treatments not to easily label them as lazy, malingerers drug seekers worse if on work related in jury depression as seeking monetary gain. I am glad that despite the stigma attached to mental illness, I think she did a great service to heed and let medical experts take a deeper scientific studies and understanding of this illness. May she rest in peace.

Naomi s husband was in Europe the day before Naomi was supposed to be inducted into the CMA for a lifetime award ? Really ? Well remember Naomi had Jesus in her life but she never got Deliverance or an exorcism. This is the problem with the Baptist Church the Methodist Church and most other churches as well. Only the Pentecostal church and the charismatic churches do Deliverance which is an exorcism from all the trauma and pain in the past. You just have to find a good one

@@user-qy9ov2fo2j that is true brother. I'm beginning to think something else happened here besides suicide. For instance, How come Ashley didn't hear a gunshot? Why was Naomi's husband out of the country at the time of the Hall of Fame induction? Since they were the only two in the house what was that conversation like in her mother's bedroom before she went downstairs to answer the door? Why would her mother pick that moment after just speaking with her daughter? I think something more sinister happened here But yeah I asked one person who read the book Naomi wrote a few years ago about River in time or something like that did she ever seek out Deliverance or an exorcism? Well the person wouldn't tell me they told me to go by the book which tells me Naomi probably never did because she was raised a Baptist and as far as I know never went to a Pentecostal Church. But if she had and got an exorcism of Deliverance she would be well she would be here. 🙏✝️

Not worrying, just recognizing the level of mental illness in this country. I noticed her issues started after her divorce, and when she used vile language at the women's rally in DC, when her career declined, she seemed to started behaving like a lot of entitled KAREN'S do, instead being held accountable for her own life, she majes a decision to blame her childhood, and Hollywierd. The issue with mental illness is that people with theses issues don't want to own up to their disease.
