Brilliant, i always need to create a new account in clients name but with email address to do business for them then passing the account to their email address, it works like a charm.

10/10! It's a rare day when I learn something new in the tech world, but by golly this Gmail address stuff I have no idea about and I'm so stoked to now be aware of it. Super helpful when you need to make 2 accounts on the same service or whatever but can't be bothered to make an actual new email account. Thanks for the hot tips, spectacular! 😄😸

But you're NOT making 2 accounts, it's still ONE SINGLE ACCOUNT, and all emails will go to the same inbox. It's one account, so why add more info to your email address to make it longer? For example, if you're doing this to have a "junk" account to use for free trials etc, if you do this, all that new junk mail you're gonna start getting is gonna go to YOUR EXISTING INBOX!!!!! And you can't just delete or stop using that new "junk" address, BECAUSE IT'S YOUR PRIMARY ACCOUNT!

You have an EXCELLENT teaching style. You are easy to understand, speak in a very clear voice, always explaining from the perspective of the novice. OMG and when you mentioned using "googlemail" as a substitute for "gmail", I said out loud, "really?". You paused perfectly long enough for me to say that, and then you said, "Yes, really" as if to answer me. I couldn't stop laughing. Bravo.

Kinda surprised this surprised anyone! I literally figured this was the case before I ever heard about it anywhere, and tested it out. It's obvious that G stands for Google, so it was pretty obvious that Google would work as well as G.

I have used the 'dot' tip to have 2 accounts with the same platform that I can toggle between. What I was hoping to find was a way to change at least the local part. I have had i the past (paid for) domain name emails that I could switch between when sending or replying to an email. Was a nightmare to set up but it was handy to sound more professional with a business/brand. I was wondering if there was an option kind of like that?

It's a shame that plus addressing doesn't work on multiple sites, because the characters you're allowed to enter into the email address field when registering or signing up for things are usually parsed for security reasons and thus don't allow any special characters like the plus + character or < > etc, to stop code injection. In other words if your entered address doesn't match the standard format of 0-9, a-Z @ recognized mail server, it won't let you register.

If you already have an email address added with a domain name, are you able to change the name that appears with that added domain name once it's created? or does it have to be re-added with the name wished to use with that email?

Hi Tasia, thanks for your informative videos. Sorry if this has been asked already, when setting up a streaming service they ask for a payment card, after you have used a card once they won't allow it to be reused. Is there a way around this that I'm unaware of? (Apart from having multiple cards). Many thanks.

I've had the same problem when making email accounts for a small charity - it seems that you now have to have separate billing and mobile numbers to create new accounts. I plan to try using a single account so we all have access to the files and emails, but using Tasia's '+' method to allow different people to select their mail. Not perfect, but we'll see how it goes!
