Thank you for the video. Brilliant :) In my gmail the Toggle split pane mode does not show up. Also, in spite I downloaded could HQ the icon does not appear that allows to organize a thread id emails with the lates on the top. Can you advice and help me ?

Nice video. Got a new sub. I recently started a new job at a startup after years with a established company and going from Outlook to Gmail was rough. Funny enough I use Gmail for personal email but trying to use it for work was a different beast. Great tips!

With regards to "Conversation View" under email threading...What can I do if for example I get emails from the same company (leads) but they are separate leads. How can I still have conversation view turned on but have those emails come in separately? Possible?

I will have to go back to find how to hide hangouts, I know about all of these setting because I have used this for a long time next to outlook (which I prefer) but I want to know how to change the size of the columns. The From column takes up an inordinate amount of screen. I also don't want the importance column, or those other thing on the left.

Thanks for info Scott! I've got a petty issue. How do you block senders profile pic/avatar from their emails? Ex- I get an annoying email from an equally annoying person. I realize its probably me not them but is there a fix for this?

You can block the sender as a whole. But I'm not aware of a way to just block the profile pic itself.

My gmail screen looks nothing like what you are illustrating. My settings icon is on the bottom left. When I click, I do not see quick setting. I see a long list of items beginning with Manage Accounts. I am trying to get my view to be the new gmail view. I don't know what I am looking at. Please help.

The meet & chat views can be hidden by clicking the hangouts icon that's in the bottom left, right behind your logo. Fewer clicks, same result.

Conversation view does not work for shared mailboxes. If you reply to an email with a generic subject it will include all other emails with the same subject, regardless of whether or not they are part of the same thread
