While not objectively 'the worst' bike I've ridden, the 2007 specialized Enduro Comp SL was easily the most disappointing. Maybe it was just me, but I could never get that bike to ride like 'one complete bicycle'. Front and rear suspension wouldn't work together, and everything happening in the drivetrain would upset the ride. *Hated* that bike, absolutely hated it....

My favorite bike is the Niner RKT9RDO with 120 fork! It´s the one that´s in my shed, so I can enjoy it every time I want to! Important is to like the bike you have instead of trying to keep up with the latest, 15 years ago mountain biking also was fun for who rode only twentysixers.

Back in the day I had a 1993 Kona Cinder Cone. I loved that bike. Steal frame, Project Two forks, made a number of upgrades including Azonic riser bars and a shorter Azonic stem and some Beartrap pedals. Then it got stolen...😢 I had it insured but the insurance company would only supply a new bike from their list which didn't include Kona's. On a whim I chose a Trek 8000. Aluminium frame with a big fat tubes, RockShox suspension forks. Surely this would be better than the Kona. I hated it...! Floppy forks and a frame so stiff I came back fro every ride feeling like my posterior had been violated. The experience put me off Trek's to this day around 30 years later.

The bike that stood out for me back in the mid 2000s, despite having had a demo 8, V10, 224, was the Marin Quake. It looked like a farm gate, ugly as sin but the suspension design worked brilliantly and although shorter on travel I had my best DH results on it.

I've only ever really had beginner level bikes. My worst one was an Australian big box store repco bike, something (still not entirely sure what) happened with the front mechanical disk brake and I got flung off, then snapped in the crash. Best for me so far was a 2004 ish norco sasquatch, Currently have a 2015 norco storm 7.1 that I do love but parts quality has gone down a bit. Hoping to put a better fork with more travel. Been getting back into riding and want to raise awareness for a rare auto immune disease I was diagnosed with in 2016 that left me visually impaired and severe chronic pain

@albikes8484
@albikes8484 8 ай бұрын
@@gmbn At the time i was more worried about how tall the toptube was off the ground. The small helped with that. I had a Zocchi Shiver at the time. So it still sat very tall. As far as the toptube length went. I was fine with a short bike. I would ride a place called Ski Plattekill in New York state. Very Rocky ,with lots of natural drop ins. Having it short made it very maneuverable for me.

I don’t know if many people really know about this but there are trails out in louisiana that have uphill and downhill trails, but they also have a lot of features that scare me to an extent I don’t ride a lot of the trails. I’ve been riding for about 2 1/2 years and the one thing I realized was I’m scared of gap jumps, but I really want to hit them someday but I figured putting it out there that there are trails in louisiana that deserve more attention the trails are in Bogue Chitto State Park, and I’d 100% recommend them if you’re ever passing through LA

I have a bit of a love hate relationship with my bikes....I wouldn't say Super sh*t but in the Meh bracket, probably my 1989 Carrera Quattro Comp but I also love it as it was my first MTB which I bought with my own money, and a Scott hardtail I bought off a mate in 1998, comfy and stable on the flat, all over the place on the rough stuff. Nice/SuperNice my Cherry red, GT Avalanche from 1993, probably rode like a pig, but it did look soooo good. Lastly my new bike, a 2022 Intense Primer 275, got a retro-ish paint job, even though I'm 5'7" the step over even on the small is a bit "Tight" and it feels "off" while going slow, but hit the gas and point it downhill on a trail or on the technical stuff and it totally comes to life.

Well, if I rank my bikes - the 39 year old Bianchi road bike (owned for 30 years) I do put in the super nice cat. My Kenesis frame trail bike I've owned and ridden since new for 19 years - well, I have to go by version - as I got it, super 💩. Version 2 had new hand built wheels, Marzocchi MX Comp coil forks and a generic (but functional) 4-way adjustable coil rear shock, mechanical disc brakes and mixed series components... I'd put it into the nice cat - but it only ever worked well on the trail, making me almost want to put it in the meh cat. Current version I'll also put in the the same cat - but shredded some weight with the Monarch RT3 rear shock, added some weight with the Fox F32 forks, changed it to full Deore groupset, and did up some cosmetics. It's the Fox fork (2013 F32 RTD) I'm not exactly happy with - I like the RTD, and it's smooth... Yet the flex in the stanchions and dive with braking I'm anything but happy with (I notice both) - I swear the Marzocchi's dove less and had less flex in the stanchions (and those where smaller!). But all the upgrades make the bike more rideable to the trails while keeping it playful on the trails. But it's pretty much time for a modern MTB and esp a more modern 1x setup (all versions it's a 3x8). But the problem is, it's cheaper for me to keep it nice and rolling as is (and I like how it rides).

Hi Blake... as you have ridden and tested a lot of bikes... I was wondering why the Decathlon Rockrider AM100 S never has been tested by you or your team? Is it that bad of a bike? Or doesn't Decathlon want to you to have I tested (or is it nessacary that they sponsor the video?!). I'm a beginner/semi-advanced mtb-er and looking for affordable, budget, good mtb. In what way can you or your team advice us on this bike? As I live on an island in the Caribbean (Curacao) we don't have options to test different bikes... so to order a bike online has it perks, hoping you ordered a good one right away. I would really would appreciate your help. Thanks! A big fan of the GMBN Channel!!! Regards, Sander
