Thanks for your videos…I know it’s takes a lot of extra time to produce them. Looking forward to the transmission and differential install. I too bought a cheap GMC and now have thousands into it. It will be great, like yours when it’s done.

Our transmission in our 1977 Eleganza II was rebuilt along with the engine. The transmission went south after about 1000 miles. No power, fluid was black. Found someone else to rebuild the transmission, however no one wanted to remove and replace. Had to find an RV repair person to help us remove it. We removed it with out removing the engine, just lifting it slightly to make room. Took a couple of hours. So far very pleased, with the rebuild. The transmission rebuilder also test drove our GMC to make sure everything worked properly.

That is very encouraging. I am still waiting for my transmission at the moment.

You are aware that checking the oil on the transmission requires the engine be running in park or neutral not engine off. Also - burnt smell - yeah it likely burnt the 3rd gear clutches - which is also reverse. I just bought a 76 Palm Beach this last fall. appears to have been redone - so Im hopefull I won't have engine/trans issues for a while. I also have fuel inject - dynamic EFi Gm throttle body.

True, I did check the level as you described, it was fine. However, I did go home before I purchased the unit. I am reluctant to throw any shade. I wish you many happy travels with your Palm Beach.
