I have a 2024 Sierra and the camera system is phenomenal. I added the trailer camera and it’s just crazy how much visibility there is. I can see 360 around my entire truck AND trailer. And I can see through my trailer in transparent trailer view. Also side rear views on both sides, cargo view, hitch view, 360 view, and front view. And all of these modes and cameras can be pulled up on screen at any time. Also the rear trailer camera view adds backup guides that shows which way your trailer is going and a diagram to show you what orientation your truck and trailer are currently in with jackknife alerts. Oh, and when driving with a trailer there’s also blind spot zones and assistance for turns to help you make sure you don’t cause an accident or turn too sharp. Overall this cameras system is one of the big sellers for me when I bought my truck. As a new travel trailer owner with little trailering experience, it has made it radically less stressful being able to see everything around me all the time. This is far superior than the gimmicky dial thing that Ford uses. Nothing better than simply have all the information you can. Cameras everywhere kind of do that. Plus it is immensely more safe.

I agree with putting the cameras in the rear view mirror👍 They could make the mirror a little bigger & go upward with it so it could also block that darn sun that likes to sneak through the top of the windshield & straight into your eyes.

I just bought a 2020 silverado, love it and the camera system,,, also when you have a trailer hooked up to the truck and you use your blinker , it activates the camera on the mirror and puts it right on the screen. turn on the left blinker and the left mirror cam comes on and the same for the right side. found this out on acc. really awesome feature that i didn't know that the truck had,,, check it out. great video

All trucks should make it standard for all Trim. :)

They need to offer this as a package in all trims. This stuff is most useful in base trims on fleet trucks

@@stevornrichards1380 Um theres no amount of skill that magically lets you see the curb, or magically let you see inside your trailer or check your hitch to make sure nothings wrong, or the ability to see in your rear view mirror even though your bed is loaded. Also I said it should be an optional package in all trims, not that it should be standard equipment

Hey guys - thanks for all the great information. I have an issue with my 2019 Silverado that has the trailer cam (installed to back of my trailer and hard-wired to my trailering connection). The video shows that you can watch the video behind the trailer while you're driving down the road. Mine times out after 5 seconds. I've been talking with GM and the dealer and they have both told me that there's another part to make the camera play continuously BUT they can't tell me what part. Has anyone had to make a modification so that it works continuously or is there something I don't know about? Thanks in advance!

We purchased a 2020 AT4 GMC 2500 last September, we did not receive the extra cameras either. We have a 5th wheel RV that we would like to add the cameras to. How do we get the cameras?

You can buy them for a GM dealer. It is an accessory. I think they charged me about $350.00 to add it when I ordered my 2021. Not sure it is worth it because it is not blue tooth. the cable system is a bit goofy to me.

What does the camera look like when you’re simply backing up? As compared to the Ford? You keep mentioning the Ram. And, the Ford Raptor has the one where the lines move in order to back up perfectly into a space, without a trailer. We don’t always tow...I much prefer that. ??

Eactly what I've been looking to find out about... the trailer camera system.... Can my 2020, new to me Silverado 3500LTZ with the same head unit you're showing here hook up all three cameras? And then can they do the OVERHEAD/birds-eye view doing so like what you showed on the truck alone? Is there any way for the wireless system on my cameras to hook up with the Silverado or do I need to change them out to the wired system?

I have a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. I am unable to get from GMC a part number for the camera that will fit my vehicle. Frustrating that I am ready to spend money on the equipment, but GMC is of no help for me to spend it. I think I may have found the correct part, $650, but GMC will not guarantee it, and if it doesn't work on my truck too bad. Any assist you could give me would be much appreciated. I am leaving for Newfoundland in a month, with or without the camera. Thanks!

I just purchased a new 2021 GMC with the Aux Camera connections on the trailer plug area. Where can we buy these cameras? My local GMC dealer parts guy had no idea and couldn't find much info about them.

There is no recording, you would need a dash cam. I wouldnt trust an oem camera anyways

@@james2042 I would think it would be easy for them to make it to where all the cameras recorded at once and saved it to an SD card and then wrote over the old footage every hr or two

Great feature and great video. But does GM provide the 2 additional cameras? And they are wired, not wireless? How exactly do they attach to your trailer and to that wire harness on the rear of the truck?

The cameras come with the package and you install them on the trailer yourself

@@johnfitzgerald5206 it should be part of the technology package found on the AT4 and Denali trims. I don't think its available below that. On the Chevy side it would be the LTZ and High Country trims.

Is it true that the HUD doesn't work well if your wearing polarized sunglasses?

Dan K I have it and you can see it but it’s very dim, but if you take your glasses off it’s very easy to see. When I first test drove the truck, I was wearing costas. I asked the sales rep if it had HUD, he was like yeah, you don’t see it? After looking I found it but it’s still very usable with them on when you know where to look.

I have the HUD on my 2020 Silverado 2500. No issues seeing it w/ polarized lenses. You can also adjust the position and brightness of the HUD to help with any issues

I do believe there is a way to mount a camera on the back of a trailer, and when it’s connected and you go in reverse, it shows your trailer cam on the factory screen in the truck. If your trailer is big enough you can get side cameras, and when connected will initiate side camera view when you turn on your blinker to show trailers blind spot.

Yet another great truck that's priced WAY above what most of us that need them to make a living can afford. I transport horses and exotics for a living and have gooseneck trailers. I have a 24 foot stock trailer, a 4/6 horse head to head and an 8 horse slant load trailer so I definitely need a 3500 or bigger lol. Imho much of the ridiculously high prices on the 2500 and 3500 are because people that just need a 1/2 ton are buying the bigger trucks because they think it makes them look cooler. Idk what do y'all think?

You install one on your trailer, and there are plugs for them right by the trailer hookup, he shows it briefly.

No. Separate camera. Furrion don’t even work with many brands of new trucks without a adapter. Power from teuck is to low from trucks

@@jimmurguia2727It’s not low voltage that causes the problem, it’s the fact that it’s a pulse modulated signal and not a constant DC signal. Some accessory devices work fine with PM, but the Furrion design doesn’t.

@@jvandenberg100 hell, I got an 2019 GMC Denali 3500hd dually and my truck doesn't have the cams?!! I got the 5th wheel prep package! But no extra cams!!
