Very good presentation, thanks you. I would caution against discouraging patients from using mobility aids without helpful alternatives. It can easily exacerbate symptoms and isolation, which can then impact mental health and can introduce additional challenges. Patients use them because they are less functional in basic daily tasks without the aids. When symptoms improve, patients happily put their mobility aids aside. Assessing a patient for POTS and PPPD can sometimes explain their use of the aids. When addressing the question of Comorbidities, in addition to Epilepsy, Parkinson’s, MS, recent studies are indicating EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) and ASD (Autism spectrum disorder) are frequently co-existing conditions with FND. Programs should be tailored taking issues concerning sensory processing and joint hyper mobility into account.
