Autumn 2001 is a Garry's Mod horror map with some unique qualities. You're given a simple task: Walk to the store, buy some drinks, and come home. There's nothing stopping you! But should you let curiosity get the better of you, you'll find there's more hidden just beyond the usual routine.

I translated that newspaper, it's just a reference to slenderman MISSING CHILDREN Children have been missing in the Krasnoyarsk Territory for the third year in a row. The police do not find any clues. Eyewitnesses who claim to have seen the kidnapper describe him as follows: a white mask on his face, very tall - more than two meters and a straggly business black suit with a red tie. Kidnappings take place in villages and villages, the kidnapper did not appear in the city.

This is like a horror version of postal 2, in that game you can either do things totally normally and have near to no issues, like lining up in the queue in the convenience store to buy milk, or you can unleash absolute hell and kill everyone in that line, which turns into you battling jihads trying to suicide bomb you. Love that game.

Hello again Librarian, I'm really glad you enjoyed this map! You did miss a few things but I don't blame you, there's so much to find on this map. Some things to check out: -That drawn door you found does lead to something... Uh, well I think I'll let you find out on your own :p. Anyways you can access it by crouch jumping onto objects on the other side of the store, you may need to walk into it rather than interact with it. -In the alleyway before entering the garage, zoom into some of the windows overlooking the alley. -you can catch a glimpse of what's behind the counter of the store if you go to the far side of the building (same way to reach that drawn door) -That paper you found can be picked up if interacted with, there are seven others to find around the map. -if you stare into the bathroom mirror long enough something will happen. -if you go around your apartment complex and follow the stone path in the trees you'll find a bus stop, wait there for a few seconds. Once again I'm glad you played this map sir, always a pleasure to watch your content. That's all I can remember off the top of my head, if anyone else knows what else there is to find go ahead and comment them below!

Here's what you missed : > SCP-087 Ending in the basement. You go too deep down, put in a corridor and a monster appears and resets the map. > Backrooms. Next to the garage, there is a small opening in the concrete which TPs you to the backrooms. Idk if there is a ending there but it's there. Also at the train station is another hole you can fall through if I remember. > Dev Credit Room. Idk how to access it tbh. It's shown to be a room with flashing lights in the window. > Weeb Room, same as Dev Room. Just a small room with a bodypillow on a bed and anime memes. > Bus Station behind the building, has a car that drives by. > Slender Ending. Collect some pages around, I forgot what goes on tbh but 8 Pages audio plays during it.

Dev room [spoiler guide]: you need to find a hidden invisible walkway atop the concrete awning above the apartment building door. It wraps around the building and windows and there's a false wall halfway across the large unwindowed side of the apartment building you walk through.

"Hair of the dog" or "hair of the dog that bit me" is an alcoholic's euphemism for more alcohol after waking up hungover. The philosophy behind it is that you can't be hung over if you're still drunk. It was featured in Jack's first golden ballroom scene in The Shining.

Don't think anyone mentioned this, but at around 16:22 there's a QR code on the right side, on the container door - it leads to a VK (basically Russian Facebook) page for a GMOD map making group (I'd guess that the author of the map is a part of this group); it's a very neat little easter egg.

The moment you see that carpet on the wall - you know it's somewhere on the post-Soviet territory :D For me as for somebody who grew up and lives in Russia, the map feels even more nostalgic. It may look similar to gm_russia but not because of references or inspiration, but because it's actually all the same in real life. Even the central streets of some cities look similar to others not to mention outskirts. Same building designs, same rows of garages (So-called "garage cooperatives"), same 24h grocery stores (nowadays getting replaced by huge supermarket networks). There is even a Soviet-era movie where a man without noticing goes to Leningrad instead of Moscow by accident and gets into the exact same building at the exact same address and even opens the apartment with his own key, then falls asleep among the furniture with the exact same design as in his own apartment only to be awakened by a stranger who actually lives there. Thank you for the video!

I feel like you're absolutely right with the centralization of the internet having a few more drawbacks than benefits. Yes, we're safer now. Yes, we're better educated. But we're also seeing, one, the internet get more and more sanitized for the sake of advertisers who don't want to touch "dirty" things, two, a decline on actually thinking and learning for oneself due to people thrusting information down your throat and expecting you not to do your own research, and three, an overall death of self-expression on one's own terms as they have to fit the sterile layouts of many sites....

7:33 the shop is called "Lilith" (Лилит). I guess it's an «Evangelion» reference, considering the poster in protagonist's flat. But I also think it's a little gag. It was (and still is in some places of Russia) pretty common to see convenience stores having titles that is a person's name (not the owner's name). Snezhana, Maksim, Yelena (Снежана, Максим, Елена) etc. It looks strange and funny today but it was common case in the past. 7:39 the radio plays «Sedaya noch'» by Yuriy Shatunov (Седая ночь - Юрий Шатунов) 7:47 there is "пиздец" written on the fridge. It is obscene word for extremely undesirable situation or bad thing. Could it be the answer to the question "where is the seller?"..

I love this map, and how it recreates that early part of your childhood feeling or just a comfy feeling of familiarness thanks to the style of graphics and references of early 2000's era posters and set ups as well as the music the radio plays. It also does a good job at shifting to a more eerie feeling of being alone outside at midnight while someone follows you without any other entities placed in the map or jump scares, only doors slamming behind you, Almost felt as if I was playing an old multiplayer game alone in a empty server early in the morning on a school day because I got to skip school, The eerie emptiness and feeling of something Isn't quite right despite it being a normally lively game kind of feeling.

I love what you said about the believability of horror stories back in the 2000's. Man.. It makes me love being a kid from the mid 2000's. Though we should keep the horror genre going in all media, we should try and get back at least some sort of mysterious believability for it. As hard as that is.. I just have a special place in my heart for the 2000's.

THIS is my kind of ambiance. The subtle breeze. The contrast of the loudness of everything you touch breaks the silence. It’s wonderful. I forget which map librarian played recently but it had the most overwhelming ambiance ripped from amnesia. It was a shame because of how amazing the actual map was. You can ruin the mood or completely shift it with sound. You can turn a creepy comfy map into an on the edge of your seat adrenaline filled nightmare with the right audio. I genuinely love this maps vibe.

Finally! For a very long time, I wanted to see you go through this map. This time has come! I really like the way you explore liminal maps. I also really like researching maps with a post-Soviet style. I liked "GM_Russia" very much. Although you missed a couple of interesting moments on it, perhaps you are one of those who very well revealed its essence to your viewers. Now is the time for "Autumn 2001"! This map is remarkable not only for Easter eggs. It is primarily notable for its unique atmosphere of an autumn thriller. Quiet autumn evening. There is silence all around. You can go out into the yard and go to the store. Take a little walk ... And get acquainted with urban legends, from which the frost runs over the skin. Librarian, I also highly recommend that you familiarize yourself and your followers with the game that is on Steam (not Garri's Mod). The game is called (ШХД: ЗИМА / IT'S WINTER). It has a double name. A very atmospheric thing! And also mysterious.

Pretty nostalgic and high on the creepy/comfy factor, though when I played it many years ago (it was a quite early HL2 mod) it had some bugs and performance issues. Seems a perfect thing for your channel though: You start out with a friend, going trick or treating and hellraising in your suburban neighborhood on halloween, then out to an abandoned farm... Probably way too late for the party, but going to post it anyways. Check out the games "It's winter" and "Bright Lights of Svetlov". They are kinda going for the same vibes with different art styles. As for the map, even though despite being a russian, i've never lived in a proper khruschevka for any prolonged period of time, much less remember anything about the times before 2002-3 when i was 4-5yo respectively, i still massively appreciate and can fully immerse myself in those kinds of maps. While I don't necessarily love the art style or the basic story setup behind it, nor did i ever enjoy ending up in eerie/creepy and inherently dangerous places and situations, the atmosphere of maps/games like that brings up some warm and cozy memories some of which have been real and some have come from my imagination and desires based on my own experiences and stories told by other people. Huge props to both author for creating it and you for covering it in such detail.

You missed a lot of details on this map. 1. There is a car driving on the highway behind the building 2. If you keep looking at the mirror in the bathroom, there will be a black figure moving towards you from your living room 3. If you take the newspaper it triggers a slenderman minigame, and if you find all the papers you can open the locekd door in the bedroom 4. You can take out the trash 5. There is a sitting figure in the brick building under construction 6. There can be a ghost face somewhere in the basement 7. if you enter the orange doodled door you get teleported to a pink room with carmelladansen playing and a lot of pictures of anime girls on the walls 8. there is a dev credit room at the top of the apartment building 9. There is a shop in the background with an anime girl face as a logo 10. You can turn on the computer in the living room 11. The convinence store has a room with a gaming computer with a hammer editor window of the map open and a poster with Half-Life 3 logo saying "I belive" Some of those are only accesible on the sandbox version of this map, go check it out.

On what you said about people believing less these days. I think some people said the same thing when Newton explained what a rainbow really was. While they acknowledged he was almost certainly right, they lamented that he’d taken a bit of magic out of the world.

This map seems to be very similar to the enviorement in an old horror game i played some time ago, it's called Cry of Fear and it was released in 2012, it's set in a Swedish city but it totally nails the whole nostalgic feeling from the dark alleys and gloomy city atmosphere, it's also really scary so it would be a great little experience, it also has coop and it's free on steam! (IT'S REALLY SCARY!)

You've never heard the phrase "hair of the dog?" It's a pretty common expression, short for "hair of the dog that bit me," basically the easiest way to treat a hangover is to keep drinking (which really just delays it)
