Zach Bush, MD is a triple board certified physician specializing in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism, as well as in Hospice and Palliative care. The director of M Clinic in Virginia, Dr. Bush has published peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in the areas of infectious disease, endocrinology, and cancer.
This is a mind-blowing conversation that explores new insights into the mechanisms behind human health and longevity. It's about the massive and misunderstood impact of industrial farming, chemical pesticides, the pharmaceutical industry and even errant Western medical practices have on both human and planetary health.
It's a conversation about the difference between the science of disease and the science of health. It's about the microbiome as a critical predictor of and protector against illness. And it's an exploration of autism, epigenetics and the mechanics of intercellular communication..
Enjoy!

@@victorbravo8645 It is a year later, and I hope you have found some help for your child. Dr. Bush has products to balance and support the microbiome - You can google his ION line. There is high leaky gut/dysbiosis incidence and nutritional deficiencies in autism spectrum disorder (the zinc/copper balance comes to mind, which is off in something like 96 percent of autism individuals. Brilliant info. Greatly appreciated. Having spent 30 years in OB-GYN & Ovarian Cancer research, I am beyond glad to hear Dr. Bush speak about WHY our health has declined and give SOLUTIONS that actually work. As a huge proponent of getting out in Mother Nature, as well as tapping into Her Wisdom, I am thrilled to confirm how we are clearly connected to Her and need to respect Her Ways in order to turn our human mess around. Donna! Andrew has no cogent refutation to the fact that GMOs are totally safe. He was so desperate he tried to poison the well, a lame form of cheating. When you play the shill gambit you automatically forfeit the debate. There is nothing to 'restore' that has anything to do with GMO crop science. We have never been stronger than right now and there is nothing to heal except our suicidal urge to reproduce like there is no tomorrow. 10,000 peer reviewed studies prove GMO safety beyond any shadow of a doubt. ANDREW JUST FORFEITED, YOU LOSE! The GMO debate ENDED in 2016. No business would waste a penny pushing what is already settled science as of 2016. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisoning_the_well

38:30 the way he describes cancer is so beautiful and also sad in the way that it resembles on a microscopic level what we have done to ourselves as a society... each of us has become like a cancer, because we have lost touch with our enviroment, so now we fight like crazy, only for ourselves.... this got deep quickly. As above - so below.

A Happy Broccoli I agree. Five years ago I had colon cancer after decades of suffering with ulcerative colitis. I had no idea what was going on inside my gut. His explanation of how tumours develop was a revelation to me. I had always considered my cancer to be this huge enemy to be defeated and not part of myself that had become sad, lonely and isolated and desperately trying to repair itself. I now have no colon, and a permanent ileostomy. Because of all the suffering that the colitis caused me, I was only too glad to be rid of my colon and get my lifestyle under control (having the stoma bag has been liberating!) and it never occurred to me to mourn the damage to my colon and its loss. This has given me a lot to think about. Since that time I have done a huge amount of self-education on the subject of the gut microbiome, nutrition, weight management, our general health, the environment etc, and am now living a whole-food plant-based lifestyle. If I had known then what I know now, maybe I could have avoided the health problems I had, but on the other hand, hearing this, I now realise that there’s a lot more going on than simply the food you put in your mouth, with all the chemical sprays in the air and the water supply as well as all over our food. The way mankind has raped and destroyed our beautiful world is quite shocking, killing the soil and the nutrients in our food, and I also think a lot about the plastic pollution which is killing our oceans. I found this whole podcast absolutely fascinating and I have learnt so much more. Definitely one to save and listen to again.

Yes it's so true I cured my osteoarthritis in my 30s, facing I thought I would end up in a nursing home it was so bad. It only took 3 weeks, no sugars! I had read the book the yeast connection. No flour, no sugar, no fruit , no dairy. I continued that diet like an alcohol who could not have one piece of cake or I would fall off the wagon, for 12 years, until I had a mental health crises and fell off the wagon. This time it affected my brain. I could not calculate simple math, read, or drive. I was completely disabled, unable to work, and had to take ADHD meds to function. The psychiatrist said it was anxiety but same meds for ADHD. I would have to switch fields to be able to work. Looking back the antidepressants would make cause a spike in my weight, 20 lbs in 3 weeks. After getting mental health treatment I realized the connection with depression and food. I went back on my diet never as strict as before, because this time I had a history of trauma to deal with. Today If i fall off the wagon, I will fast for 15 hours to clear my symptoms, but I am completely med free. I have 5 acres and use minimal chemicals. Mosquito dunk and spray for health reasons, but no fertizlers, mole repellant, no round up, etc. I have bloomings all over my property , my neighbor has none. Do not worry about your lawn worry about cancer!

I'm fascinated how people are so quick to dismiss the entire interview, which is wall-to-wall fact-based, science-based, mostly verifiable information, simply because the man ALSO has as product to sell. What, we're fine with self-serving capitalists getting filthy rich, but we're not okay with people actually trying to do some good in the world unless they do it for free? Sounds like a pretty warped value system to me..... If he was only it for the money, someone this intelligent would know that 100 minute informercials where he barely mentions his product is not the way to go about it. I'm not saying believe everything you hear just because it sounds good. Far from it. I'm just saying judge the message for the message itself, not from knee-jerk, paranoid suspicions as soon as you find out that someone might be making a living doing what they do.

@dsndicmsa oh please. 10 years ago I went to an Organic Diet. I have had one cold since then, no other illnesses, I'll be 56 years old next week. I take no drugs, no vaccines. My Niece has Lupus. She controls it by.....eating Organic. It's the only thing that has helped. My 75 year old Mother has Dry Macular Degeneration. 9 months ago, she switched to an Organic Diet, started daily juicing, taking quality supplements, and her last eye doctor visit, about a month ago, went from a 5 back to a 1, which is the lowest form. I think she will reverse it. Look around you. Obesity, Allergies, Asthma, Cancer, Diabetes, ADD, you name it, it's off the charts since the introduction of GMO foods, and the huge increase in the vaccine schedule. When I graduated from high school in 1981, we had , one fat kid in our class. Maybe your to young to see these things. At work now, logged in there.

@dsndicmsa through this whole exchange you didn't explain why this video is quackery. You also talk like the organics industry is a monolithic entity. It isn't. Plenty of big food companies slap "organic" on their products. I'd also guess that the bigger food companies have much deeper pockets and lobbying power. They also fund studies which put their products in a good light. The sugar industry is a good example of this, making fat the enemy through flawed studies and manipulated data.

I have no doubt that my brother's Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma diagnosed at age 23 and killed him at 37 and my diagnosis of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 10 years ago aged 55 which is not curable is as a direct result of glysophate exposure. The only difference between my brother and myself is that he did not have the information available in 1974 about diet, thus still ate a heavily animal based diet. Whereas I am blessed to have the science available about the incredible benefits of WFPB diets which I have adhered to on a vegan diet for the last 4 years. I lost 15kilos, 20years of Osteoarthritis in most of my joints disappeared in 4 months, constipation gone, brain fog gone, more energy than I can ever remember having and now enjoy exercise, left 10 years of taking an anti-depressant behind 2 years ago. I have never felt better in my life and I attribute this to one reason only. Ridding my diet of All Animals & their secretions (eggs, dairy, honey). And following a Whole Food Plant Based Diet. 65 and thriving. And even though this cancer may still take my life one day I believe that I am going to live much longer than I would have if I had stayed on the traditional western diet. And my quality of life is so much better and I feel truly blessed to have been able to take responsibility for my health in such a profound way. Brilliant talk Dr Bush, by the way. Thankyou Rich for a great talk.

Thank you for sharing this absolutely fascinating interview. It was riveting and I am saving it to listen again. I have learned so much more than what my researches over the past few years have already taught me - since suffering colon cancer five years ago, following many decades of ulcerative colitis, I have become passionate about nutrition and the benefits of whole-food plant-based eating, fermented foods, the gut microbiome, and the ethical and environmental problems associated with animal farming. This video has added another layer to my knowledge, and I am grateful for the excellent way that the points were put across, easy for a layman to understand but non-patronising. I had never considered my cancer to be the result of separated, sad and isolated delicate endothelial membrane cells desperately trying to repair themselves but had always thought of it as the great enemy to be defeated, an invader rather than a part of myself. I have not mourned the loss of my colon and this has given me a great deal to think about. The more I delve into the sub-microscopic world of our bodies, the more amazed and astonished I become. In the Psalms, King David said to God, “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” He knew nothing of the wonders revealed by the electron microscope - of the minute, interactive and perfectly functioning city inside every cell, and the extraordinary molecular structures that give us our form and functioning. I am in total awe. The tragedy is that we human beings, as wonderfully fashioned as we are, are so capable of destroying the beautiful world we live in, with which we are designed to live in perfect balance, with all the medicines we need to heal our bodies being right there in our environment and in our amazing self-healing bodies. I had no idea of the profound effect of the chemical glyphosate on this perfect balance, or that it could cause such an epidemic of diverse but related diseases. This whole podcast was a total revelation and an education. Absolutely amazing. So much to ponder.

Fascinating! This interview was 2+ years ago when the world wasn't infected by Covid-19, & we've become more isolated, so unfortunately hugging friends hasn't been possible. I watched Dr Zach Bush's video about Covid19 which confirmed what I instinctively knew about prescription drugs & modern medicine. I'm in my early 70's & don't take any prescription drugs, not even over the counter meds like Tylenol. Over the years I've improved the way I eat & became vegetarian about 3 years ago eating organic foods. I live in Maui (since 1994) & know of the work you do with the local Hawai'ian farmers. By the way I’m a naturopath who qualified after finding that the death of my husband had caused a ventricular (right) arrhythmia. The consultants said it was a potassium sodium imbalance. However they recommended the only remedy was to have an ICD fitted. I read the somewhat alarming stories of people who had done that and challenged the consultants and said I would research. I have radically changed my lifestyle and diet. I eat organic, plant based diet, I supplement with CoQ10 and more. I meditate and took my yoga practise to another level. I dance 2 hours flamenco 4 days a week. No sign of arrhythmia!!

Hey Rich. Great podcast. I completed a 30 Day Restorative EcoChef Certification in the beginning of 2018 and what that means is I am very invested and interested in making food the most bio available, nutrient dense and plant based for the best health and highest energy. I attended a workshop last weekend that was a Wild Edible and Weed walk in a local community garden that is unsprayed. Apparently the foraging and appreciation of "invasive" weed species is a hot debate topic but in this workshop we looked at weeds in a completely different way - that they are Earth's solution to healing the exposed top soil as well as offering up to 400% more nutrients than your average mono cultured plant crop. There is research showing that some weeds will only show up for x number of years only to disappear once their "work" is done. Anyway, it came to mind as a possible podcast because it is something that could change health, the environment, how we farm, how we forage - just so many things.
