Absolutely fantastic Video Monique 🙌 Super Stoked to see you're still with the A/C guy, I was the one that told you that ya need to catch that Dude waaay back when you did the A/C video with him. Seeing the super chill interaction and vibe between the two of you is fantastic!! And honestly it's cool to see him with you out on the trails. The LC did REALLY well also 👍🏻 Glad I was able to bring another light bulb moment into your world. That's two for two now 😊✌️

I’m 63. There are plenty of adult women in my life that call me dad… while the daddy jokes are a given, that’s not what I mean. I’ve been an ‘emotional support dad’ for some that had a bad dad, or no dad. Note, I don’t say father, for I have no DNA connection with them. Anyone can be a father, but it takes a good man to be a dad. You and I have commented on your KZfaq videos over the years and have exchanged wisdom more than once. Your open insights are raw and valid and you vulnerability is well on display, which is by far OK and rare. Your channel speaks for those with no voice, or those who can’t find the words. Your adventures fuel the desires, even in me, to get my former Jeep, and my current Tacoma, back into the deserts. Thus, with all the above said, I agree with the comments of caution, but also encourage to continue pushing those boarders back. In fact, my advice is to maybe get an old beater truck. A small 4x4 Tacoma or HiLux with good suspension and lockers, smaller tires, and no exterior mods. Go with a crew and beat the hell out of it, repair it, go again. Be comfortable with small failures vs large Land Rover catastrophes. This will build you up incrementally and as any good dad would recommend, it’s better to use some band-aids than casts. Thus, continue to inspire, to experience, to share, and even educate us all on your journey. If I was your father, I’d be emensily proud of not what you have done… but of your spirit. I’m not your dad… but I am a fan and have subscribed and hit the notification bell (giggle). With love.

Side To Side rocking is the most fatiguing motion for me when offroading, completely understand your ride discomfort. Respect for getting outside any way u can. Now that you're back on the trail, perhaps this winter you'll consider something more extreme, such as a trip to Death Valley this winter where temps are 20C during day and Saline Natural Hot Springs water is 25C

Awsome video, it's been shot beautifully and tells the story very well. Unfortunately KZfaq has probably not promoted it cause it's different to your normal videos 😢. This is where a lot of other channels are now running multiple channels to get around the algorithm. Done what I can and shared it with friends. Chin up ya doing awsome and keep doing what YOU enjoy and we will come along for the ride.

Glad you are still getting out there. It is hard to come back from a big trauma like that. I'm older and my few friends are not close by. Some of the others no longer do "adventures". I am lucky I have a wife and daughter who love Overlanding. We have a fairly well equipped 4Runner. We are getting a relatively off-roady travel trailer so we have a base to use when doing heavier off-road excursions. Keep exploring, peace.

Concerning the seats, if they feel inadequate in an older vehicle, ..remove the standard upholstery, then add two inches of foam to the lower section of the seat, and one inch of foam to the backrest section, ...then refit the standard original covers. Use a strong plastic bag to slide the covers back on, and remove it, just before closing the covers. The place usually to open, is where the top and lower section of the seats meet.

Quite a comment about monotube shocks Monique. Its quite interesting to note that all the major big name shocks are mostly monotube gas shocks. The only one with that advocates for twin tube is Ironman, from what I've seen. There are also cheaper foam cell shocks on the market, like the Pedders Trakryder from AUS and even Mamba racing from China. OK.. we give the Chinese stuff some stick for being cheap junk, but I don't think so in this case. One of Mamba's customers is Arctic Trucks. Yup, the very same ones that built the famous Top Gear Polar Hilux. So if they say the shocks are good, who am I to argue.

@@OverlandLady True, heat and fine tuning for various terrain. Remote Res are certainly top notch. However I think I like the idea of the foam cell shocks more. I found these two videos very informative kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nLl9itpntbe6goE.htmlsi=iy4AnvOnVSpCLZ26 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z5hofaqiqL2qhZs.htmlsi=bOm9iOuAk_uaCwRN I like the idea of the twin tube foamcell shocks over the remote res ones.. That’s a great track and challenge for the 100. I’m told the 100 series has ATRAC? it should automatically engage when a wheel slips and act like a locker, but only works when revs under 1500 rpm. Obviously that won’t be ideal as lockers in some situations where you need some speed m but better than completely open diffs. I’ve yet to try it on my 100.

Which type ot tires do you use on the Land Cruiser 100?
@unconventionallifestyle4827
@unconventionallifestyle4827 10 ай бұрын
Monique, you are far better, traveling in a small group. You are safe that way if a vehicle brakes down, having another for support. You enjoy sharing your travel experience more, when you do not have to do everything yourself. Being Human, you laugh far more, in a group. Travel in older, adapted vehicles is far more enjoyable, than any complicated unknown new vehicle could possibly offer. In truth, as life progresses, available friends become less, as most are tied up in their careers, family, studies, ..and financial obligations. However most people, who would enjoy your type of lifestyle, are otherwise committed....as for people with in your experience level, are mostly much older. People who are more highly health conscious, are generally less focused on age, and far more functional at enjoying what places they can travel to. Countries with more gravel roads, also have more wildlife, and places not so disturbed by civilization. Reaching remote places, with low population, is what we all aim for, in vehicles being reliable, enhanced in function, and costing the least possible, to run and maintain! Leaving each place, looking as if nobody has been there, and removing anything that could damage wildlife, is a way of life...that we wish all people would adopt. Choosing who to travel with, is what sets the mood and enjoyment of each trip. People who stay responsible, regardless of what pressure they experience, who never give up,and leave nobody behind. In the case of major loss or damage when alone, always stay with the vehicle, because it is easier to find .... exception being, to be where the vehicle left the road. Stay inspired, as you inspire many like minded people world wide, as many have not yet travelled, bet are captured y what they see you do. Modern life is more complicated daily....and you set many people's minds free, ..they start new bucket lists.

Lawrence the Kiwi what ever is wrong about the father figure. The tendency in that situation would be to gravitate toward a mall crawler since your environment would be shaped more by your mother. I wish more women had the courage and fortitude to get out of the house and take chances like you do. You need to get over your accident and keep plowing forward no matter what happens. Go into any cancer ward and if you can find just “one” patient that tells you to not take any chances then stop your YT channel and go sip lattes at Starbucks for the rest of your life.
