Did you ever use these boots with a gnome? will it be standing? Would love to see what you ended up doing with this. I want to order the 17 shoe pattern you have

I did but let me check if I saved any pictures (they will be on older hard drives if I have them). Honestly, because these can take weight, you can use any style of gnome body to top them (dowel + cone, sock, sewn, etc.). The tall boots will give the impression of a standing gnome even if you use a sock on top. Just make sure you cover the body with something which hangs down a bit.

I didn't have any Easter eggs for the front... So I use the cups that come with your cough syrup or NyQuil when my kids were younger I don't know why I saved them but I was glad I did... so I use those as the front but I the back made too short. I'll make them again.. you make everything look so easy... I'm so blessed I found you.... Try to keep busy everyday cuz I live alone I'm lonely.. I'm retired... Early 60.. sure is great not having to get up to go to work... But I try to make something every day for my business... Cuz it brings in the extra cash... As you know everything's so expensive these days... Especially toilet paper...lol...cheers!!!

Haha It's INSANE how much toilet paper is (and the sheer hassle it's become in 2020). LOL Those cough syrup cups are a great idea. I'll have to start saving them. If you have the k-cup pods, those work, too (just cut a bit of height from the open side). I'm glad you have something to keep you busy (and earning) in retirement, Linda. This year, we NEED to be keeping busy, that's for sure.

@@SarahNenniDaher thank you my friend...it's hard alone..when can't see my son's...my grandson...I just miss hugging someone...our cases are up high...we are in code Orange..my son's city code red...so I worry about my family ..not left my place for 8 months..but for groceries...I enjoyed watching your election took my mind off covid-19...I made 4 gnomes this weekend sold all 4 ..on a roll...watch your videos over and over..to heard you laugh...you have great idea..so talented ..you are a kind soul...your mother raised you well...thank you...

Oh, those vinyl roll inserts are perfect - heavy and thick is better for the heavier gnomes, too.

@@debvoso9490 I keep them in my studio. I also make art dolls and I sculpt. I'd sell them if anyone wanted them but it's about the fun of creating them. I make them with my daughter.

First, thank you so much for the sweet compliment. ❤❤ If it autocorrected to chocky from Chonky, I am honestly thinking these will be too tall as I built them for that guy. If you want to raise that guy up, you will definitely ned to add weight and also might need to add a round of wood or double up cardboard at the base before adding weight to the body. What kind of fabric is that for the front part shoe of the shoe- I love it!

That is all felt - the lighter tan is the thicker felt (it's called premium felt at Joann's) and the black is the thinner craft felt but you can also use a craft foam. It calls out in the patterns what I use for each but most will work with a felt.

I'm in Seattle, WA, Linda. And to answer your other question, the pattern for these 10 sets of shoes and boots took quite some time to make and perfect for the pattern. Even if you can't get the pattern, try making them with estimates. I promise, some of these designs you can do without the pattern. ;)

I think I recorded those, so I'll edit those and get them out in a couple of weeks. Those are just for shelf-sitting gnomes, as I haven't yet figured a way to make them for the standing. But I'll work on that, too. ;)

I used just plastic split-apart eggs you can find at the Target or online. A friend even picked some up at her local Goodwill.

You can use the premade paper rolls used in kid's crafts or make your own using a heavy card stock or poster board. :)

What size gnomes are you making? These can be adjusted to a point, but I do have quite a few that can be used for smaller gnomes (or even sock gnomes).

If I remember correctly, I put these under a large sock gnome made with a rigid base in the bottom so I could glue it to the top of the boots. I made a couple of pairs and that one I definitely remember making a couple of years ago.
