The Kogi are an indigenous people living in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains of northern Colombia, in South America.
They are the only civilisation to have survived the Spanish conquests and to have kept their individuality. They are perhaps the only indigenous people in the world who, because of the particular nature of their surroundings, have been able to keep themselves apart and sustain their culture inviolate. And not only that.
The one anthropologist who managed to study them in the 1940′s and 50′s concluded that though they are similar in some ways to the other Indian peoples around the Caribbean, northern Central America and south to the Andes, there are such profound differences that "in the end the Kogi stand alone".
They have survived to this day, keeping their traditions and relying upon, and looking after, the mountain environment. They believe it is their duty to look after the mountain which they call "The Heart of the World". They call themselves the Elder Brother and refer to the new- comers as the Younger Brother, who they believe is destroying the balance of the world.
In 1990 the Kogi decided they must speak out to the rest of the world. They had survived by keeping themselves isolated but they decided that it was time to send a message to the Younger Brother. They could see that something was wrong with their mountain, with the heart of the world. The snows had stopped falling and the rivers were not so full. If their mountain was ill then the whole world was in trouble.

Thank you Raphael, for uploading a good quality copy of this important documentary and message. Hopefully the BBC will eventually stop taking them down (a few have come and gone on YT over the years), and actually make an official release readily available through the Internet. With heart... nice to see indians coming back and re establishing what was.. hope modern people seek further deep understanding and can see from veils of falsehood they sorround their life from what we are given or belong with. we can learn rivers of revitalizing wisdom we can use to run our every decision we are previlige to have..

The Kogi poeple have a very ancient linage with a world view ethos that recognizes or "sees" root "bond relations" inside the symbiotic strutures of the Natural world and its laws they try and reflect this in Both in Elder Brothers Warning , and the more recent film Aluna , (Which is also a part of there peoples creation story) , Defining what Aluna is, is quite important And I recognize there biggest challenge comes from trying to convey the Kogi world view perceptive of reality to The younger Brothers way of "seeing" through the lens of "Science this a very difficult thing to achieve as there are source strutures science can not see yet, some of the perspectives shared in there peoples "creation story" become quite interesting when one Takes into account the work being done in search of the "Last Universal Common Ancestor" , In defining what "Aluna" Is "Pure thought,, Memory,, Spirit ,,Mind,, Soul,, Imagination The mind and heart inside nature as a living thing as a whole) The entity out of which all things are born, in which everything is contained. (The sea is the all mother) In Aluna there is memory of the past and the Potential of the future--- Aluna forms the "Bridge" between the universe and the human spirit.. when one looks at this recent examples of theory on L.U.C.A the Kogi perspectives and warnings do take on some rather deep viewpoints take a look at the examples spoken upon (youtube example) in this documentary. " Through the Wormhole Season 5 Episode 5 - Does The Ocean Think " films like James Cameron's Avatar also symbolically reflect some of these indigenous peoples perspectives and there is some surprising research behind such examples ,, like " how trees talk to each other suzanne simard" (youtube example) anyway I have a lot of respect for what they have to share and hope there is a venue where people can come share more dialog with them .. thank you for sharing

How did the Kogi arrive at their knowledge of nature? Well, obviously through their meditation methods and through the visions of the Mamas brought up in their caves for nine years. There they saw the divine Mother the earth in form and she gave them the knowledge. It is another way of getting at knowledge through vision communications. We Europeans think we are superior to them. But it is obvious we are destroying the earth because of our fall from God in and above nature. We should learn from them? But no we are going to suffer great loss because of our current business models which are based on the knowledge after the fall. God is conveying all this to us through the Kogi and others like them. Before the great destruction comes God is warning us through them. Take heed you business people who run the world with your mega corporations. Your children as well as the children of the poor are going to meet death soon if our ways don't change. Amen!!!!!

That is why I believe all of the pains, sufferings and unnecessary deaths are all caused by two modern factors... market system and the monetary system. You pointed out greatly in your comment. Thank you.

Many Mamas do 18yr in darkness and even read the most knowledgable have reached 36yr. Super human achievement in service of their community. We have ppl like Boris Johnson and Justin Trudeau instead. Our leaders are ridiculous in comparison.
