However, the country will definitely put less emphasis on working together with other African countries and emerging economies. It may eventually become more of a US-dependent puppt, not unlike Japan or South Korea.

My understanding of the current situation is that Helen Zille is incorrect to suggest the ANC cannot reach GNU concensus without support of the DA. The ANC has 159 seats of the 274 GNU seats in the National Assembly which equates to 58% of any GNU consensus. So, to achieve 60% GNU-seat-consensus the ANC can choose to link up with either DA-31%, AFP-6% or PA-3%. In fact, the ANC does not need the DA for any consensus. Effectively, the ANC only needs the DA to form a government of any description. Similarly, the only scenario the ANC cannot invite any other party to the GNU, currently, is if ALL the above mentioned GNU members decline.
