We did fight a generational war at one time. The boomers called us entitled lazy shits, we said f you, and did our own thing and were successful. The boomers stopped talking about us, and started using the same tactics they used against us against the millennials. Thus getting us out of the limelight and allowing us to have the shadows we wanted. DBV has the correctness of the matter. We are in the shadows, we are everywhere, we can do anything, because we raised ourselves, fought a generational war as teens and young adults and won, and we took our spoils and went to our own home where we only got stronger. Years ago I once had a cocky millennial tell me he could do my job. That it required no skill. After a couple minute rant by me the kid was litterally sobbing in the corner. True story.

I'm a Gen X veteran. I spent 4 years in the generational war we call the Cold War. Then I got to skip the Gulf War but wound up in the LA Riots while in the National Guard. Then did tours in Iraq and Afghanistan during GWOT. I will *TOTALLY* wipe the floor with a millennial clown that wears an R.L. Stine t-shirt (a juvenile horror writer who writes at the 4th grade level because that's his demographic) and somehow found and wears glasses even dorkier than the 1980s black frames I wore as a damn Private. The younger generations are finding out that life is hard. We all went through it. Our parents went through it and thier children will go through it. My first thought is , I don't care. Not about their feelings or how hard they feel life is. I also don't care about the consequences after dealing with someone trying to harm my home or family. I remember my parents mortgage rate was 14.3% interest. Life was difficult for my parents and raising my family was difficult for me. Decades of always working to exhaustion and stretching every penny until I made copper wire. I repaired everything myself cars, plumbing, house , computer etc because I couldn't afford to pay someone to do it. Mind you there was no youtube, everything was books or just figure it out. I put two kids through university and they have no student debt because I worked as much as it took to pay the tuition. This is life welcome.

GenX is very good at hurting people's feelings if we really wanted to. We grew up slinging insults because we didn't have cell phones, internet, social media, and streaming services. Millennials are notorious for getting their feelings hurt, and I don't think they could take it if we decided to bring it.

Two of my grown children thought it would be a good idea to take on a Gen X dad. I changed the locks, shut off the cell phones, and stopped paying for any insurance I was not obligated to pay for. By the time my son was 18 he said I had to feed him. I told him if he came on my property again, I would ....... We do not fuck around.

Millenial here.... I was adopted by boomers... There was always one sentiment i shared with Gen X that was told to me in regards to growing up with boomers... "Seen not heard".... grew up with some vile boomers who said the meanest shit to us... grew thick skin over time... These younger generations don't seem to understand that we already got the hate from our parents and grandparents. We are survivors of psy wars. We grew up with the Greatest Generation and the Boomers telling us how awesome they were and how we would never be able to live up to them. We were also not allowed to be angry. We are so calm and quiet because that was what we needed to make it. What the people who want to attack us don't know is under the thick layer of calm is a cavern of distilled pissed off crazy from all of that repressed anger. They don't know they are suggesting they start pounding on a vat of frozen over nitroglycerin. I don't think they should try to find out who will destroy them verbally or physically because you can't tell from the outside.

67 Gen X. My interactions with Youth is normally educational and cordial, until they overstep the line. I have found that one well placed growl is normally enough to meke them retreat back into their shells like terrified tortoises. I actually find it mildly amusing.
