what happes when ACK is lost in GBN

the sender has a timer. and when he doesnt receive any ACK. he wil send another message to inform the receiver which frame the receiver has till now. At this point the sender will also set another timer for this message.

Since we are talking on Data link layer,it is frame. Packet is a generic name and its nomenclature changes depends which layer u are working on.
