Jakub Gołąbek (1739-1789) - polish composer, singer and teacher, born in Silesia, died in Kraków.
Professionaly, Jakub Gołąbek was associated with the band of St. Mary's Church in Krakow and with the cathedral band in Wawel Royal Castle. He worked in the latter institution since 1774. His main tasks included singing and composing music. Gołąbek was also a singing teacher at the music school run by Wacław Sierakowski.
Gołąbek's compositional work is dominated by symphonic works. The composer left 5 works called sinfonia, symphonia or symphony. These works were scored for two violins, viola, double wind instruments such as oboes, horns, flutes or clarini, and basso. Gołąbek's legacy also includes 4 cantatas, the texts of which were written by Wacław Sierakowski.
