A little about me:

That's a great way to explain it, Hendrix opened my mind to mixing rhythm and lead when I got started. Once I opened that door I felt like I was finally getting somewhere lol.

Thanks for the tips and, I also just checked out the Fearless Flyers and they instantly took me back to the 70's in college listening to Chicago. To me, they sound like an updated and modernized version of that great band. Awesome to hear them and I am sure I will be listening to more of their music. Thanks for all of the great information that you share.

I’ve said it before ... but I’ll say it again, I started learning guitar as part of my own personal lockdown ‘cliche’ about 5 weeks ago (I was already a runner/fitness nut and can bake pretty well!) and I have learnt so much from your videos. So much so I’ve just signed up for your jamming course ... I am now quite frankly expecting to be headlining at MSG when they re-open!! .... great stuff and nice that you do it all with a sense of irony, humour and simplicity ... cheers mate ... 😊

Loved this tutorial Sean very informative, I'm suffering with rhumitoid arthritis so alot of neck work is slowly getting away from me, it helps finger use and this video is making it easier to A follow and B get make music, thank you so much

Okay this was lots fun and a great lesson on expanding into soloing. This shows how simple and tasty it can be. Love you trashing the 'salty guy'. I'd use an expression that begins with F and ends with M but just keeping it family friendly I won't...truthfully you smoked him. Always look forward to your post.

Intended to enhance a relevant point....... from the 50's to 2004 my late father was a go-to jazz bassist; I asked him when young how he got so fantastic on bass....... "I played to every jazz record I could.......". He shared his ideas that the more you play to recordings, the better you get at "picturing" the interval between frets..... helps get things predictable, while you also learn intervals/notes to use with extra respect :) Concurrently, you're developing dexterity and strength, callouses, and intuition from muscle memory. This all just happens; the key is to "do it" :) One other idea he shared was that plateaus in learning and what you wish to play better do happen........ taking the occasional breather kind of purges bad habits. Pounding away in practicing has its virtues but the occasional purge time will reveal some new idea and ability. Lastly: "every song you learn teaches you something about another".

Terrific lesson Sean! I did check out Misty Morning Rain & it wasn't bad. However, I couldn't help but notice how Ray M used the same exact guitar riffs made famous by Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers Band on "Ramblin Man". Great music is always copied....😉🎸👍

Not sure if this is a stupid question or not but from your experience is there a noticeable difference in the sound/feel between a guitar with a maple fretboard compared to say a rosewood one. I really love how the maple ones look but have never had one before.

This posted 11 hours ago and I'm just getting a notification now? I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. Edit: ok so I've finished watching and once again you took things I thought I knew and explained them so I actually understood what I thought I knew. I always learn something from your videos and really appreciate you, though normally I'm just nice enough to not be a salty comment 🌝. Could you explain more about what a master class is? I took lessons as a teen. Played a little until I was about 20, then didn't play at all until 11 months ago. I'm 50 now and have some knowledge, but lots of knowledge gaps. I still don't feel like I'm any good and maybe an intermediate to advanced beginner. Will master classes leave me in the dust by being over my head? I really just don't know where to start. Your first instinct was correct. Unboxing videos are tedious as hell. I don't mind the reveal so much, but the people who spend 10 minutes agonizing over the various pamphlets that come included...i just don't get it. Open the box and get to what's inside in under 2 minutes or I'll probably click away from the video. But, it's your channel... do whatever you want. Bought your course. Thanks

The absolute worst thing about unboxing is, not opening the box in a timely manor. Its like, some people stretch out the unboxing in a touchy-feely long drawn out manor. Nah unboxing’s are not my favorite thing.
