How do you feel about the very high likelihood that the book series won't ever be finished? Legitimate question. I'm simply curious to know what new-ish fans think about the story they love never getting an ending. Me, personally? I despise that fact. I used to be like you are now, loving and absorbing every single bit of information about the story that was available. I fell more deeply in love with this series than any other fictional creation I've come across in over 5 decades -- and it wasn't even close.

@@Quazi-moto Personally, I wouldn't be very happy if TWOW doesn't get released, but i'll survive if he doesn't get round to ADOS. I find that the show having an ending is almost enough for me, now if the show never existed and he just never finished the books,, that would be a different story haha.

@@sh4d0w-r0ss-8 I get where you're coming from as far as having SOMEthing to sink our teeth into story-wise due the show existing. But I differ greatly in one major aspect: -If we don't get- Since we won't get a finish to the series in book form, that means the show will be the closest thing to canon we'll get. That fact eats me up. *D*ipshit & *D*umbass completely blew it. It's the one time in my life that I've seen nearly the entire fanbase of ANYthing come together to pan the material. Why are other shows like The Witcher & The Last Kingdom not as good as GoT&HoTD? One big reason is because the world building is much more fleshed out in the Game of Thrones world.
@loremasterxp36357 ай бұрын
I think it's unfair to compare The Last Kingdom to Game of Thrones, one is historical fiction & the other a complete fiction fantasy. Not to mention The Last Kingdom focuses primarily on the story of one man & Dark Ages England whereas Game of Thrones/House of The Dragon take us all over the place & tells multiple peoples story.
@Michaelonyoutub7 ай бұрын
The key difference in my opinion why Game of Thrones stands out compared to other shows that tried to do what it did, is that Game of Thrones' source material was meticulously laid out over decades of writing, where as other shows often only have a few years of writing at most. Other shows often have amazing first seasons as those are the ones with the most time and effort put into their writing as the creators work to get the story picked up for production by studios, but their later seasons often only have one or two years of writing put into them, as they have to produce a new season every year or two, leading to padding and a noticeable decrease in quality.
@vaahtobileet7 ай бұрын
@@Michaelonyoutub I would dispute that: The Witcher novels were published from 1990 to 2013 and the Saxon Tales ("The Last Kingdom" in TV) from 2004-2020. So the source material of The Witcher show had been out for longer than the source material of Game of Thrones, and was of course actually finished, lol. As for the television screenplays, clearly Game of Thrones faltered there also. So the source material had not been out for any longer and wasn't even nearly finished(!), and the screenplays maybe were given more time to develop in the last season and maybe others (?), but it didn't save the prolonged quality of the show. edit: although, I wasn't thinking of the English translations of The Witcher, which were only published from 2007 on. But still, the GOT seasons all aired with one-year gaps, except the last one, which was universally panned.
