Especially with the lyric he wrote, "Packin' up, shackin' up's all you wanna do..." Ouch indeed - watch Stevie's face in the seconds before the second chorus. She looks... pretty upset, to say the least. Had to be TORTURE to sing that with Lindsey so much, but they knew what sounded good, and went on with it and it's such an amazing song. Thanks for sharing!

Wasn’t Stevie sleeping with Mick by this point? Also, don’t forget, Mick wanted Lindsey in the band, Lindsey insisted that Stevie had to be included or no deal. Just think how pop/rock would have been different if Stevie wasn’t part of the band.
@EazyCheeze
@EazyCheeze Жыл бұрын
@@mikecumbo7531 Wow, so even though a great deal of hurt was there and definitely was felt by at least Stevie and Lindsey, they kept it professional for the sake of the band and Lindsey wanted Stevie‘s talent there as well - yes, the world would not have had one of the greatest bands in the world if that had not been the case.

I agree he has a great style but in my eyes he is the second best guitarist in this storied group with the founder of Fleetwood Mac, Peter Green, being #1. While most people are only familiar with the Buckingham-Nicks version the early Fleetwood Mac 3 guitar line-up was an incredible group which outsold the Beatles and Stones at one point.

This is absolutely phenomenal. It’s funny - when outstanding things like this are occurring, they just sort of come and go and we don’t think too much of them. Just another Midnight Special. We take them for granted. Only decades later do we truly appreciate the once-in-a-lifetime magic of that unique era, never to be even remotely approached, much less repeated.

This band was truly great. I knew that Lindsay Buckingham was a great player and singer, and of course Stevie Nicks is one of the great female lead singers. I didn’t realize that John mcVie and Mick Fleetwood was such a powerful rhythm section. And of course, RIP to another angel, Christine mcVie. A lot of people say they prefer the Peter Green/Danny Kirwan lineup but their traditional blues rock was doomed for the 70s era.

This song woke me up and I was absolutely mesmerized seeing Stevie with her top hat and singing. For years and years after that I kept the image in my mind, but it finally took the Internet to bring it back. I found it on Usenet, but the quality was okay. Thanks for posting this!

KZfaq has 8 full episodes and about 20 segments, Lorne Michaels had the rest of the episodes destroyed. Home vcr's didn't exist, and commercial vtr's were gone by the 90's. So most of the episodes are long gone. The YT episodes are decent quality and sound, considering the time they were made, and they are free.

This song is probably one of the reasons why I have hearing loss and tinnitus to this day. I used to cruise around in my 65 Chevy Biscayne with a Sanyo tape deck and Jenson Tria-Ax speakers in the rear package tray. When this song came on, I would blast it so loud that the rearview mirror would be vibrating from John McVie's bass line and my ears would be thrumming to Lindsay Buckingham's guitar. Great times!

I didn’t catch them on the Midnight Special, but did see them on SNL when I was a young lad, performing this tune. During my 5-year obsession with Kiss from ‘75 to ‘80 there was only one band, one summer, that mattered as much and that was Fleetwood Mac w/ ‘Rumors’. Think I actually listened to that album more than Kiss but just loved it so much, their harmonies, and thought Mick Fleetwood was an incredibly tasteful drummer. I was nine years old. An incredible time. Pray up and God bless.
