I demonstrate what works for me in getting the Goal S open. I go through with light pick force and see if any of the pins want to move, and if so, I get a click out of those-either going into the milling, or with counter-rotation, coming out of the milling into a set. This is opposite of what you should be doing with the jiggle test, but it works for me with my S. I don't recommend this as a general approach or if you can feel the difference between binding and set in this lock. If the pin doesn't want to move, I go to the next one. If all five don't want to move, I increase pick force a bit and try them all again, repeating until a pin clicks. Once it does, I go back to low pick force and continue cycling through. At this point I know how much force I need to get a pin into the milling and the higher force I need to get it out. If a pin doesn't move at that force level, I leave it alone. If I get counter-rotation, I take that as a sure sign that's the pin to pick. I find that level of tension doesn't matter much for this. I tend to use light/medium.
