I have already accomplished my most important priority for August (surgery yesterday) and the next two weeks are recovery time. Now that all of that is no longer taking all of my mental energy, I need to figure out what I'm going to prioritize for the 2nd half of August.

I don’t have a formal goal setting routine right now but these videos always inspire me to be able to break down big goals into smaller, do-able steps. I’m a teacher and I’m starting a new job next year teaching music at a school for kids who are visually impaired or blind! I’m nervous but excited about it. I’m definitely trying to use my summer vacation to get prepared mentally and physically!

I’ve really gotten behind on my powersheets. A toddler growing and changing really fast means I’ve had to pivot on the big goals I prioritize and I’ve been very bad at just sitting down and filling the powersheets out.

An August personal goal is keep working on decluttering my house. Volunteer-wise I need to help plan the school year with the elementary PTO and plan the Girl Scout year for my daughter’s troop.

I find myself more invested in your goals than my own. That’s probably not a good thing, but I can’t bring myself to feel bothered. 😂

This is the first year in our 31 years of marriage that we don’t have to even think about the school year starting. Our youngest graduated from college this year and our only grandson is only a few months old. It’s weird. When we got married I was still in college and then I taught school. Now I’m retired with no kids in school. Our youngest did say she’s thinking about law school in a year or so. 🤷‍♀️

Big goal for August is to actually start writing. 10k as a minimum. I don't get better by just thinking about it in my head 😂

I love these videos. 2020 and 2021 I started out so well w/ the power sheets! And then I let them fall to the side. I need to get back to it because I see the value in using them.

Yay for new podcast episodes!!! Also, I love that you invited Loki to watch the rabbit with you...:D. I've found myself becoming planner-averse in the last year but the way that you do things makes me think it's been more to do with the system than the actual planning itself. Or perhaps I'm just contrary. Either way, I'm going to keep watching. :)

Your goals look great. What I would like to get done this month would be my bullet journal. I know I said I would start 8 months ago. Anxiety and health issues have made that hard. But those are excuses and I will start this month. It looks a little messy since I had to do some scrapbooking over a few pages, but that's ok to be messy. Right? I don't have to do this every day and it's actually the 3rd, so I already haven't done this every day now. Lol. But I want to do this. I hope you are doing well and having fun with your kids!

The lighting is great on that main floor! The echo should not be an issue once you get all your furniture in there. Love the color on the walls. Where in Colorado are you? We’re closing soon on our home and we won’t have our furniture for a while as we have to schedule PODs to drop off after closing sometime. Exciting and stressful at the same time. I can totally relate to what you’ve been through with moving and buying a home.

I wish our cats were vocal like Loki. The only time they meow is if you accidently step on a tail.

Ok...help me out here. I've tried Powersheets many times before and they just don't work for me. Sitting down and writing everything down takes more time. I don't know if they overwhelm me because I find more "things" to do that I won't do (being totally honest here). I was happy to have food on the table everyday, clean laundry, and normal living activities (I worked 50 hours a week at a teacher). And last year was totally out of control with the time required after the work day. I just officially retired from teaching and I feel like I don't want to do anything except recover from that job. That means, read enjoyable books, go out for dinner and do crafts. I'm spent. Any suggestions out there?

Walkies. It has been so hot that we have had the " wow, that was a pointless shower" days alot. Otherwise known as 2 to 3 showers a day. Ughhh. Which yes begs the question why on earth do people live in the south.
