There are many different way to make goat curry from different regions around the world. This goat curry is used made with Indian spices. The potatoes are optional, I sometimes make it different ways.

3 Tomatoes
2 Potatoes * Optional (just add less water when cooking if not using potatoes)
Cilantro

1/4 cup Chopped Ginger Garlic (optional) if you using paste you do not need this
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
Green chilies based on taste
Salt based on taste

Simple easy to follow recipe. Good job! And I agree with Debbie here. For people who cook Indian food regularly, it is easy to estimate the amount of spices needed. A bit difficult for others. PS: Stupid frigging comments; just ignore them.

Excellent recipe thank you. Particularly impressed with the way you emphasise the importance of reducing the onions to a dark brown paste like consistency. I discovered this some years ago and it makes a huge difference to any finished curry. Just off to buy some goat which is on special offer at our local supermarket!

This is a magnificent recipe, thank you. My flatmate has recently moved from New Delhi to Melbourne, Australia, and we both absolutely loved the results. He actually said it tasted as good as the ones his uncle made for him as a boy. Thanks especially for explaining the logic of the process - you're so right about taking the time to complete each stage of cooking properly. Today I got up at 5.00am to make it again. Best regard, and many thanks to you.

I am beginning to eat goat and I am looking for the best way to cook and keep healthy. I try the soup with vegetable and little salt. Barbecue and not much extra ingredients. Cook, heat up but not burn. I am seeing hundreds of styles but I like the one that are most healthy. Nice video.

Hi Kanchans!! I am Moroccan but I love pakistani food. I tried the goat curry at my friend's house and loved the taste. I have a whole goat in the fridge right now but I don't know which part of the goat would work best for this recipe. Also, where can I buy the seasoning from? masala and ginger garlic

Made this last night - it was very good! I would still like to have the amounts for the spices, because I think i overestimated on some things. You have said you will provide them for your future videos, but I don't understand why you can't add more descriptive text in the notes for THIS video to give the measurements. if you want people to learn from your video, then it just seems like a logical thing to do. Oh, and you sound just like the scores of East Indian people I have known over the last fourteen years who have been raised for most of their lives in Canada by parents who weren't. I hope you continue to make cooking videos :)

Hello Robert, just taking a second to say you run easily one of the Top 10 channels on all of youtube, your commentary is consistently hilarious, and you seem like a super likeable person. Reason I'm commenting, is because since you're a but of a celebrity on youtube, I would like a bit of star power in my brand new community: Fuck General Motors. First of all, allow me to tell you the reason I made this community. Recently, General Motors has been importing electronic parts of very low quality in from china to be used in all their newer models, they've been doing this for a while now, and as a result, thousands of cars have gone wrong and killed innocent people, and GM is avoiding being used by some of the most cowardly ways ever seen before in history. It's really genuinely pathetic, so Rob, it would absolutely make my entire year if you would join this community and share it, it's all for a good cause I swear, I'm not looking to become famous or anything, I just want to grow my community until it's almost impossible for anyone to avoid it, if all goes well, people will start finding out about all the terrible things GM has been doing and no longer support them, and GM will go bye bye, cease to exist, and stop leaching off of government money, they've been bailed out about 4 times Rob and they simply will not stop until we force them, they've stollen trillions of dollars. So, if you've read this far Rob, I'd also like to tell you that you are the one popular youtuber I chose to share this community with, I'm not going to spam it everywhere, and you are also one of the nicest youtubers, you've replied to my comments on your videos more than once, and that always made me very happy, so at least thank you for that. You have no idea how much it would mean to me if you shared this Rob, you'd be helping kill a bad guy, GM is genuinely a very evil greedy company. I really hope you read all of this Rob, it really means the world to me.

Your videos are very informative, keep up the good work. I know you are just starting out but if I might make a suggestion, some spice measurements would be helpful in your future videos for those of us who are novices when it comes to Indian cuisine. I would love to try this but I don't how much of the spices to put, thanks.

That was the best mutton recipe I have seen. Tomatoes were added late that is good as tomatoes makes the meat stiff if put earlier. Also the water added late makes the masala to be cooked well with the meat.

I like this recipe. It's simple and easy to replicate. I agree with previous comments that exact measurements should be included (either embedded in the video as subtext or in the video's description so that people can always refer back to it while they're making this dish. Do you think ox-tail would be a good substitute for goat? It's difficult to find goat in my area. Looking forward to trying this one. Thanks!

I like the way you explain what you're doing step by step - does a lot to show technique. I am currently trying Indian cooking and purchased a bunch of the spices at an Indian market that specialized in that cuisine but I suspect the quality of them is poor. Also, the process of creating the marsala appears common to many dishes but unusual to American cooking processes so I am so happy I came across this recipe because it helps me understand that better. The only wish I have is that you include recipes to follow while cooking - hard to cook and watch vider. Thanks

Nice work. Will be trying out your recipe this weekend. I have watched several goat recipes on the web. So far this looks the easiest and the best. Tomatoes gives any dish the rich sweet silky taste and potatoes are fillers and starch that would help thicken the gravy and you can feed more people as goat is not cheap anywhere, unless you are butchering your own goat. I add potatoes in my chicken curry and beef curry. :)

it would be fast if you add onion.. ginger paste .. then all spices so that they roast. little.. n after that tomoatoes and lastly meat.. or u can start with meat adding some turmeric n salt with the meat first ...after the water dries up.. add some oil to the meat n fry it.. in the mean while u can chop and make all other spices ready.. or u can cook both parallel ways.. .... n later u mix both masla and meat.. it will taste great.. .. so that u can save time.......any ways it would take almost 40 minutes or 1 hr... thnks for ur video...!!

Nice technique Kanchan. Really that looks yammy, my taste buds are playing symphony when saw that dish. Would have preferred the spices seeds slow roasted for few mins before powdering. Its good to satay/caramelize the onions and ginger/garlic paste in oil, but any powers like gharam masala and chilly powder, might burn. Could have added after the tomatoes. But awesome presentation, kudos.

Yuuuuummy! Now, that said, I've never eaten goat meat. I love goat's milk. I love goat's cheese. Could someone please reply with what the flavor of goat resembles? Does it have a gamey taste? I recently read in the Bible that it's actually classified as a 'clean' meat. Now, I will definitely give it a try. It runs about $6. a pound for stew meat. Blessings to all!
