In Goat Format, there's little excuse to play more than 40 cards, in my opinion.

you jsut make you deck worse. goat format is too slow and doesnt have enough tutuoring to justify worsening your draw. every extraa card reduces your odds of drawing trinity for example.

@@jfree672 makes sense. I was talking about playing 42 in modern back in 2010-2011 but even in that context most people felt how you feel about not wanting to worsen the draw for those limited staples

Goat format decks don't toolbox apart from ROTA, but you shouldn't play a high monster count in warriors. If you make a deck with 41 cards, cutting the worst card in the deck will make it better.

​@@spectre9065 Other decks 100% have searchers. You have Sangan, Witch, recruiters, ritual searchers and monster gate/reasoning. That's not to say over 40 cards is neccessarily good though. And to me, it doesn't make much sense to say 42 is better than 40 based on anecdotal experience. Any probability change that exists will be very small, so you have to explictly calculate it; experience is too affected by randomness. If you're playing 55 cards or whatever though, fair enough.

I apologize for not mentioning your name. That was not intentional. I added a pinned comment to help clarify. I don't closely follow your channel, so if someone gave you the impression that I had "beef" with you then they are mistaken. Regarding Ritual Chaos, my statement was that regarding the fact that we called the deck out as being competitively viable BEFORE it did well in tournaments (ie that we were ahead of the meta). That wasn't intended to diminish the accomplishments of the players who actually did the hard work of winning in those tournaments.

@@GoatDuels Apology accepted ^^. Frankly a few folks came at me over the Zorc video but the inverse seems not to have happened. I know I must seem cagey about this but in a format this old every single card change counts and the people who changed them need credit. I apologize again for the comment in my original Zorc video.

I believe that I've always been fairly consistent in my view that a decklist is not anyone's property. I just show people decks that I think are good in Goat Format. What people do from there is up to them. And when our content helps people win at Goat Format, that just means we're doing something right.

⁠@@GoatDuels agree that no one owns these, but people put in work to create them and ultimately there is not content without them. Most of these people have endeavors they are trying to get support for, or just egos they want stroked. Either way, it is good for them to be credited with the creation. You’ll notice in my videos I mention every person I remember who ever touched a deck idea I’ve had.

@madcap7782 a week and a half before cyber dragon was released. Most of goat format did not have that set and it does not properly reflect the meta.

Dark Beginnings 2 (the set that released Cyber-Stein as a rare) was legal nearly a month before Cybernetic Revolution was. Not allowing it to be used in modern-day Goat Format would be rather arbitrary.

Stein is risky and a lot of fun to play, but if you're talking about banning 1 card from the pool it would have to be BLS the meta would be more competitive without him
