"Even Native Goats Grow
Big With Proper Feeds
While visiting the Del Monte Cattle Feed Lot in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon yesterday, I saw a goat sharing the feed mix given to the fattened cattle.
It was a native goat judging by the horns and the small ears except that it had a well-rounded body often seen only in hybrid goats.
The reason for the spectacular body is its diet which is the feed mix given to the Cattle in the Fattening Corral.
This simply means that with proper nutrution, we could improve the meat carrying capacity of our native goats.

Consistent Silage Feeding
Boosts Native Goats Growth
Native Goats consistently fed with Sorghum Silage are showing great improvements in growth and reproduction.
Last year, I bought three native does and a young buck and raised them in pens, just like my other hybrid goats.
After 1 year, the native does which were thin and emaciated when I bought them, have given me 5 kids.
One of the does is into her second pregnancy.
This outstanding performance could be attributed to a consistent feed of Silage fortified with a little salt and molasses.
Ang ibig sabihin, kung maalagaan at mapakain ng tama ang mga native na Kambing mas mabilis silang manganak at kikita ang magsasaka."
