Lester you need to put 4 wooden stakes around the trres then put wire fence around the stakes to protect the trees from the goats and other animals until they are grown. I'm sure Jamie would be pleased about this if you do this for her.

I'm definitely #teamtilly. She was apparently permitted to roam around in the yard of her previous home, until the neighbors got German Shepherds who were highly aggressive. Tilly was then kept inside. She's adjusted to leaving the garage with her pack of dogs. She has gone around the goats with Lester. I think she's slowly adjusting, but it may take her some time to let her guard down and relax. I'd love to see Tilly get to live her best goat life. 💫💫💫

You could put some wire cages around those fruit trees to protect them for Tilly or the puppies, it also helps the trees from bending over and becoming distorted.

I know what you mean Lester about “friends and acquaintances”. I had many friends until I became sick and disabled and slowly but surely all of my “friends” have disappeared. I’m sure that a lot of it is “outta sight outta mind” but it’s also very hurtful that no one checks in on me or like Jami said in her live last night, asked to participate in things. Even though I can’t go out to eat with friends anymore, it would be nice to be invited to do things occasionally.

It may take her awhile to work herself into the hierarchy and you need to protect Jami’s trees. When Tillie looks at you like that just picture the look you’ll get from Jami of Tillie continues to destroy her orchard 👀👀

I had a dog that would do as Tillie did to the trees, only it was the flower beds. We no sooner had all the plants in the ground and went inside. Looked out the door and he had all the flowers pulled up and he was laying in the flower bed quite proud of himself.

We've all been the "new" guy or gal at some point in our lives whether it be a new school, job, etc.... it takes time to adjust & to learn your place, establish confidence, & eventually make friends. Tilly is the new "gal-goat" & I think with time she'll find herself enjoying life as a goat! Don't feel bad, it's for her own good & safety (as well as the safety of the trees, your knees.... 😂). Im surprised that you didn't put the trees between the building and the Longhorn pasture. That way they can get fenced in and never bothered by the ostriches or goats. Less aggregation and anxiety keeping them intact

You might want to consider building some fences around the trees, to keep the trunks safe. Farm wire wrapped around a ring of deeply sunk rebar might work. Better safe than sorry.

I think TIllie could learn to be a goat at the sanctuary. She is a rescue after all. If Lola and copper could learn , she can too.

I would think that Tillie being left with the goats is a good thing. She can learn to live and act like a goat from watching them. That would lessen the chances of someone getting hurt by her as well. I can only imagine how you and Jami felt when you saw the trees all dug up and pulled out. She really did a number on them.
