In this video, I analyze Victor Wembanyama and Anthony Edwards' first matchup.

When I first finished watching a video of yours from my recommended I suspected you had a few hundred thousand or maybe a million subs and was surprised to see you had less than 15k. Your channel is easily my favorite basketball analysis channel on KZfaq. The well written script and delivery are so concise and entertaining while still being highly well thought out and illuminating. I feel like I learn something new about the game I love, every time I watch. I anticipate each new video from you and I can’t say the same for most of the channels I’m subscribed to. Keep up the excellent work and continue to improve and I’m sure you will have 1 mil+ subs in no time 👏

One of the best side effect of having Wemby in the league is that it forces all the stars/superstars to get creative against him. It's not impossible to score when he's on you, but you're gonna have to work for it, and that's going to create some very exciting finishes for years to come. Plus, Wemby is going to naturally get stronger and more experienced over time. This is going to be fun af.

I feel like the spurs are on the verge of becoming a decent team. They were getting blown out earlier in the season. Thier last 2 games have been losses but not only were they close but they are finally keeping opponents under 120pts. They have given up 130+ 2x and 150 this year. They are looking better on defense and able to keep games closer on offense. Also although the wolves game was a good one for Victor, the Heat game wasnt. once he figures out that half of his shots are just bad decision making, and learns to take good quality shots, he will become more efficient. They need an efficient wemby and vassell to compete with others

The wolves have had issues for years, they are definitely playing more controlled, but as you said with the star talent thing, we have fallen apart in nearly every 3rd or 4th quarter, there was a 20pt lead, we blew it but still hung on. Same goes for the GSW game sunday, I love what the spurs and OKC have been doing to utilize everyone, the wolves have so much talent and now some maturity one the team (conley) that I think we have a shot at going far, we just need to rely on who's hot, a big offender of this was DLo last season just bricking over and over but probably because of ego/perceived status, he just kept shooting bricks (on open shots too), and I think Ant had a really low % game recently too.

It's an exciting time for the team, and with the right adjustments, there's reason to believe they can make a significant impact in the league.

Good breakdown, just one thing I have to say. I agree with what you said about the Wolves offense of relying on talent, and it was wrong of Ant not to pass on that three or whatever but this is kind of a young team, and they’re still immature. Come time or the playoffs hopeful they will have fixed this by taking the open and easy option. The thing is, I don’t mind trying to out Talent your opponent, especially with this team. Ant is the man, and he knows it, he’s not afraid to size up guys like Wemby, Lebron, Jokic, Kawhi, all those guys. And he can beat them. No one can guard Ant-Man consistently. KAT is also great, the best 3 Point shooting big man in history. He can also post up. Mike Conley is a great passing point guard, and he opens things up. Jaden McDaniels is another brilliant defender who has some offense too. Naz Reid is one of the best 6th man in the NBA. They have lots of talent. Hey can rely on it. It’s like telling Steph curry not to shoot from deep. Also, you make it seem like Wemby and the Spurs offense is so much better than the Wolves and stuff and that it works and all that. The spurs have won one of 3 games against the Wolves this season. And they won by 1 point. The Wolves are beating them, so technically their strategy is as good if not better.

Well. You're partially wrong on the good process by the spurs. What i mean is that only 3 to 4 guys on that spurs roster play european style or the spurs style of basketball. Namely, wemby, cedi, vassel and tre jones and maybe doug. The rest are headless chickens playing aau type basketball. The spurs are currently trying to reform sochan's game but it's gonna prolly take a long time before he improve his decision making. Keldon and zach collins are posts on the offensive end.

Bad process and better talent is generally how most teams win championships. Talent is too fluid in the league and rarely stays on one team long enough to perfect the system except in rare cases. The league is pretty much designed with that in mind. I don’t mean to say the wolves shouldn’t fix their shortcomings, just simply point out that it’s not uncommon for talent to beat out process in this league quite the contrary in fact. It’s typically a generational talent that brings enough stability to a team that allows for a team to perfect their process. But what do I know it’s your channel.
@jdrmanmusiqking6 ай бұрын
Very short sighted comment. When was the last time a team like that even MADE the finals let alone won it. You can win with that style in the regular season but its only going to take you so far
@ddnc19836 ай бұрын
@@jdrmanmusiqking you’re right I shouldn’t have used bad process because any team that can win a championship has a strong team component to their game. But there’s a ceiling to how far that can take you and when both teams play close to perfect, better talent will win out. When was the last team that won without a superstar (or several)? I’m not saying that playing better X’s and O’s is a bad thing, that’s ridiculous. It’s just that sometimes teams are okay with and even try to force breakdowns because they know they can win the 1v1s.
@LyrixNChill6 ай бұрын
Basically talent and process are both necessary to win championships, but talent is by default most important. Process and team flow can be taught and drilled. Talent “just is what it is” to some extent

A lot of your analysis is pretty spot on, but comparing the wolves play with the spurs is a little twisted, not gonna lie. The wolves have multiple All-Star level players, who all are finally settling into their roles with each other, with Ant at the helm. The Spurs really only have Wemby, and some other solid roleplayers who can be very hit or miss at times. Obviously the Spurs are gonna play more team ball: It's a necessity. Without Wemby, tho, that style of play crumbles for the Spurs. I get the Wemby hype train, but this was a little too skewed toward the Spurs IMO. Balance your analysis a but more, and you might be able to grow your channel a bit.
