How is it that Greg always seems to get himself in the most picturesque situations? The hen on the skyline, the gobbler in the tree, and then a deer just casually walks into frame and starts chasing the hen. Love Greg’s hunts!!

What a great hunt!! One of, if not, the coolest multi day hunt builds I’ve ever watched. Love the intellectual curiosity on figuring that bird out and learning how you put the puzzle pieces together. QUESTION. I am an experienced but at best average Turkey hunter. I was surprised by how long the long beard waited to go tend to what appears to be a willing hen. Is that normal? If not, what does this tell you?

This happened to me during deer season this November in NC. Heard a bird try to fly up in tree and the heard a thud. Ten minutes later the Tom came up a path and proceeded to lay down under a bush on ly 20 yards from the tree I was sitting under. For next 20 minutes he would raise his head once in awhile. I moved around stretching my legs , moving my rifle… I know he saw me. When I finally got up, he got up and ran 15-20 yds…. Looked at me and tried to fly up in to pine tree. It seemed that he had a good start but as he got up about 20 feet, he fell down to ground. He was now 10 yds from where I stood… he just walked away. I guessed he must have been injured… probably a broken wing as you experienced with this bird. Love your videos…thanks so much. Ever want to come east to NC… open invite. Alan

The ol bird did better than I thought he would coming out of that tree! You still probably did him a favor by harvesting him though. The boogy man would’ve probably got him. The fact that Greg couldn’t get back in to roost that bird that evening goes to show how much work goes into editing/helping run THP. To have that bird pretty well figured and choosing not to “blow off work” to roost him just shows the dedication. You’re the real deal Greg! Love all the THP videos, especially these gems.
