MeatEater

3 жыл бұрын

The last time Joe Rogan and Bryan Callen went out with Steven Rinella they were soaked head to toe and came home meatless. To remedy their meat crisis while keeping them dry, Steve sets up a springtime wild turkey hunt in sunny California.

Turkey hunting is a throwback for me, my Dad took on me on four successful hunts when I was 13-17. Sadly, it stopped when I went to college, the farm was sold, and he passed. Shit happens. I've had the pleasure of taking several people on their first spring gobbler hunt over the years. Sometimes the experience has been very similar to this. Even with a bird down, it just doesn't "click" with everyone. I have a theory that being the person actually running the call(s) and having to make the decisions is a big piece of the puzzle they miss when new. But, not much chance of getting to that place if you're already "over it". Oh well. To each their own. More majestic toms for us.

Turkey Hunting is my favorite, Joe Rogan disrespected Steve's efforts. It takes years learning how to hunt Toms.

Joe wants instant satisfaction. I think he wants to appreciate hunting but I doubt that he is ever going to put in the time to master the art.

@@ICryWhenICum001 I know. But he chooses the easy hunting. Nowadays he hunts on elk ranches he doesn’t do backcountry hunts.

@@Brinxy13 yeah id call that tourist hunting. Not real deal tracking and rucking in the backcountry.

There are 3 things in life that are guaranteed. Death, taxes and when Rogan and The Kid are on the show its gonna rain.

@Dg Mh like the way u marked urself as an angry closeted gay? Joe Rogan said it best, "the only people who act like that and get so upset are 1 of 2 things... 1 - just an ignorant moron, or 2 - they're secretly terrified that dicks are delicious". Judging by how quick u jumped to the 4th grade ur gay insult..... I'd lean towards #1, but only bc its painfully obvious u already know from experience dicks are delicious. It's cool tho bro, its 2021 and the world is more accepting of people like u now!!

Turkeys aint for everyone and I like that. Saves more for us die hards but there is more than enough to go around. Grateful for conservation efforts that brought these birds back from the brink and ensured they are still around today.
