You either love him and his tics or you don’t. First time I saw Keith was solo in Lincoln Center. Knew his music but absolutely fell in love with his breathy “scat” and his habit of 1/2 standing while playing. The music is as lovely as the best Spring day after a hard winter and his eccentricities are all the more endearing. Shalom

Saw this trio in Brussels in 85. As amazing as all of tthree men are as players Jack really blew everyone's mind that night. His asymmetrical playing that evening was astounding, literally breathtaking. Long time Jarret fan and couldn't love this sound more.

Not only is this music simply sensational, but to watch three men, each at the top of their form in their chosen instruments having so much fun "working" together, is truly a joy.

Jarrett just give me the sense that music will never grow old no matter that I will, for this I am grateful.

I forgot about my problems for 16 minutes and 44 seconds. God Bless The Keith Jarrett Trio :)

The title is so evocative ...... (but we are not telling the Divine - what to do) There is this eternal hope - for guidance and protection - for the new and helpless. Who is not such a child - really ? And then this music. (Will not like to comment further - just too scintillating) It speaks - of the work of 3 accomplished artists and is somehow - shared with us. We are ennobled and joyous - in these vibrations and the waves of beauty evoked - therefrom. Fare thee well.

What a wonderful idea to take a classic Billy Holiday ballad and transform it into a gospel and funk infused jam. The genius of a great standard is to make it your own - so God bless Keith Jarrett whose got his own version of the great American classic.

It just doesn't get any better than this! I could rave about timing or tone or whatever's but when 3 souls met and meld as one, this is what happens, joy!

Way back in 1969 I went to jazz concert in Birmingham Alabama . It was a sax player who was No 1 at the time. And I was knocked out by a 16 yr old piano player named Keith Jarret.It was great just like this.Unbelievable live music the way it ought to be. I hope that he will play again.

This trio is one of my favorites. The expression and the expanding is outstanding.

Absolutely outstanding. Incredibly tight group with each musician being an extraordinary master of his own instrument -- not easy to find!

I am moved, deeper than I thought, deeper than I planned. Jarrett is a master who will be around in 400 years beside Bach, Beethoven, Zawinal and Hendrix.

Jack makes this. I was lucky to see them do this in Boston in 1986. It was great then But This is better. Jack uses double stroke rolls which is very uncommon for drummers now-and its a joy to hear. And Keith Jarrett suffers from ME/CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome). Amazing he has the strength to perform. In 1999 he said: “No one knows how debilitating this sickness is unless they have it. It’s like if you get migraines, someone may say, ‘Oh, I get headaches so I know what it’s like.’ But you can’t imagine how bad they are unless you’ve had a migraine yourself. But this is a much more horrible disease.” [Interviewer asks:] So, it’s more than just being tired or burned out, a common perception? “Are you kidding? I’ve met people who have had it for 10 years, 25 years. Some are bedridden, some can’t walk across the street. It’s stupid to call it chronic fatigue syndrome. Keith's Radius, his Ulna, the Carpal and his Metacarpal Bones, including the Phalanges, the Distal, Medial and Proximal, are somehow manifestations of his occipital cortex; the positioning and posture of his fingers, wrist, arm and so on, on the keys of a piano, is somewhat alien. The resulting musical notes caused by that, cannot be explained so easily. At least to many of us anyway. That's where we are here to listen to this wonder.
