I am very sorry to hear of your situation. It surely can't be against God's will for you to seek healing, unless you can hear God clearly telling you that your illness is the same kind of thing as Paul's thorn in the flesh (2 Cor 12:7-10). But Paul's thorn was not especially debilitating for him. It didn't stop him getting on with his busy work schedule. And it sounds like your illness is much more severe than Paul's thorn. In other words, it sounds to me, not only that you are OK to seek healing, but also that it is God's will for you to be healed. How you go about gaining healing is another matter. I don't want to give a simplistic answer. But I do wonder whether you have been prayed for in the manner of James 5:14-15: 'Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will restore the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.'

No. Desiring healing is natural. What would be sinful is if you said, "Lord if you don't heal me I'll never serve you again." Remember what he said to Paul when Paul inquired to be healed, "My grace is sufficient for you." And if you understood what Jesus has said, then you would understand Jesus challenged his disciples to confess their faith before others and to walk before others as his disciples (Matthew 10: 32-3; 16: 13-17, 24). Wow, I have pretty much the same experience and my response about favourites was the exact same. I don't know about whether he has favourites anymore, but I can tell you that He absolutely DOES work all things for the good of those who love Him. When I reached the end of my tether, I chose to completely submit myself to Him, just about gave up trying at all. And almost instantly I had peace. Things are still tough, but I have peace. And I've realised without my lived experiences I could never have helped the people I have in the way they needed. He really does know best, even if it doesn't feel that way. I pray you experience it like I did, because my mind changed about His favourites over night and it was absolutely liberating. ❤

Well, I don't think an individual can make choices outside of the limits God puts but I guess the idea to grasp is that God is working for good in all things, even those that seem bad. For example Samson goes to get a philistine wife which surprises his parents, but Judges 14:4 explicitly states that this was from the Lord as it was His plan to work thrpugh Samson's sin to cause the philistines problems.
